Thank you, Michelle Obama!!
Me

Posted on 06/05/2015 2:25:19 AM PDT by MacMattico

One of my kids would like me to thank Michelle Obama. She wants me to keep it on the low down and not give any identifying characteristics that may get said kid in trouble so I thought I'd post here. Not that no one reads FR, but I doubt kids school board does! Because Mooch changed the school lunches to basically nothing and had the vending machines stripped to carrot strips that go bad in a day, my kids sports team started selling candy and protein bars on the black market. They raised enough to go to a very prestigious tournament they were invited to last year as well as this fall. Last year the school wouldn't pay to send them, this year the secret snacks selling for a $1.00 a piece have gotten them where they want to go! The Coach and Principal don't mind, so no one will get in trouble at the school as long as it stays at the school. Incidently, candy and bake sales were allowed before the Mooch diet appeared but they didn't make much because kids were given enough to eat at lunch. Now starving kids are hitting up the team at their lockers as these federally "illegal" sales go on! Capitalism always wins out, dear Michelle and instead of just a crappy lunch the kids will do what kids will do-- find another food source. If not to support the team they would buy snacks at the store near the school so might as well support the team! Interesting fact my kids biggest buyer gets free lunch, but can buy a bunch of candy. That's just not right either!

Black markets thrive under communist despots.

Yup! And the kids are getting a more realistic education and realizing this themselves!

You should be providing your own kids lunches. Why you feel the schools owe your kids lunch is beyond me. This is a big problem in America.....expectations that the government take care of you. Make lunches at lunch if you think it is too hard to make them in the morning. Oh I know you might have to stop by the store once in a while too. Life is tough when you have kids. Try not taking the easy way out.

In the olden days there was usually a burger and malt shop across the street from the school that served hotdogs, hamburgers, ice cream, sodas, malts, ect.

Then the schools started a policy of “Closed Campus” in which kids could not leave the school grounds to go across the street.

My kids get an excellent lunch from me. They aren’t the ones roaming the hall starving, but did take advantage of the situation when presented to make money for the team.

When you write the posted article yourself, the spot comes up for first reply... I always feel like I need to put something there. Didn’t know it was such a big deal.
