Not wanting to let their momentum machine lose any steam after the announcement of the single-stack, 9x19mm Glock 43, the Austrian wondergun manufacturer has unveiled an even more exciting pistol: the 9x18mm Makarov Glock 47.
While the Glock 43 will certainly fulfill some users needs for an ultra-compact, reliable, and capable pistol, said company representative Grigory Otrepyev, a 9x18mm Makarov model will appeal to a broader and more discerning market.
The Soviet-designed 9x18mm cartridge is well-known for its ability to defeat soft body armor and transfer a significant amount of energy to its target, making it a far superior choice to 9x19mm.
The 9x19mm carry crowd is significant, that is true, continued Otrepyev, but the number of American men and women who rely on 9x18mm Makarovs to protect their families and homes is much greater. Now theyll be able to sleep sounder knowing that they have a 9x18mm Glock to rely upon.
:)
April fool aside, I have been looking at an H&K USP in .45 ACP. Very Nice.
The date on the article WAS April 1.
And for anyone who knows anything about guns, the statement “The 9x19mm carry crowd is significant, that is true, continued Otrepyev, but the number of American men and women who rely on 9x18mm Makarovs to protect their families and homes is much greater.” was a dead give-away.
I was reading about the Glock 69. The rate of fire is lickity split.
You owe me a keyboard!!!!
April Fools article. Not sure why. I have a 9mm Makarov, a great concealed carry.
You can only get 8, in the magazine!
with real good ammo,
The knock down power is just great.
Also mine has a laser built in to its grips and it hits where the little red dot illuminates.
It works EVERY time.
165 grain Hydra Shok, Federal Premium.
It is what is in it while at rest.
NOt what I use for practice as it is too expensive.
I am serious about self defense and home defense but you should see the saw my neighbor has to keep safe with.
I have other stuff like saiga 12 gauge but nothing like a saw.
Pretty impressive when he has on his fourth generation infrared head gear and carrying that around the back looking to kill pigs on the runway or taxiway at 2:oo in the morning.
Shorter with less powder is better?
The lower velocity yields an inverse ratio of parabolic kinetics and ballistic vectoring.
It throws the framis out of skew on tredle. Particularly useful during the Spanish Inquisition.
The real news reads like satire.....these days....satire is being used...on the net......to nefarious purpose...imo
Chaz Bono’s waiting in line...
But don’t you have to featurant the grottus to the sabent before that?
I was going to order that Makarov Glock as it sounded like a great CCW option. Then I found out from my distributor that it will only be offered in the US with a 9” long integral suppressor. Plain and without the can, you can only get it in former east bloc countries. And it requires berdan-primed ammo for some reason...
So, darn.
Oh, and then I found out that the integral suppressor is fake. It’s not even real, but the american market these days is obsessed with “tacti-cool” features...
(Juat laying it on thicker as I go, but you got to admit, it’s not *too* unbelievable...)
9mm Mak is superior to 9mm Luger?? Nonsense. Stalinist-type propaganda. Anybody who would believe this knows nothing about ballistics.
Got me, but it’s a bit late for an April Fool’s joke.
You need 7.62X25 for that. Do a number on a kevlar helmet. CZ52 is not for beginners. Can be kind of DIY. Hat tip to Travis McGee. Formerly easy to get ammo is not so cheap and easy to come by.
Five.Seven x28
Well to be precise the 5.7x28 doesn’t have as much mass so it has very little energy but it is hauling ass at 2100fps so it will pierce through several walls and level IIA kevlar.
