Whoa.
I was just listening to Coast to Coast AM.
And there was a guy who called, asking what was up with Art Bell. Art Bell is the guy who brought Coast to Coast AM to prominence. Recently however Art has recently not been on the show.
The show has for years, featured George Noory.

It sounds as if Art Bell (may be) somehow competing with Noory.
Unsure from the call however, he didn't really share a lot of details.
Anyone know?
After Art’s non compete with Sirus/XM is up in July he is coming back with an online show called: Midnight In The Desert!
High strangeness to you!
Ooooh. That would be great.
I can’t stand Noory. He always sounds like like he’s buying everything the callers or guests say.
Art Bell sounds more incredulous, and pokes fun at them when necessary.
and was living there the last I heard ... maybe 10 or so years ago
It’s the AB’s!
Interesting.
Thanks.
Plus he’s an obama zombie. Cant believe this clown would tell listeners to vote for odumbo the night before the elections.
Even non-politics aside, I totally agree Noory just sounds incredulous or even sarcastic. Listen to the old Ghost to Ghost/Halloween archives between the 2 for the past 20 years, and you’ll notice the difference.
LISTENER: “I saw a ghost in my bedroom”
NOORY: “Wow. Really? Are you sure about this? tell me more..”
BELL: “What did it look like? Did you communicate with it?”
I sure do miss Arts skeptical follow up questions...esp for those off beat late nite topics. In the past he seems to be hot then cold about returning.
Its the End of Days?
Yeah, he was supposedly but years I’m not sure. I even listened to his show when he was in the Flip’ chasing the aswang’ or Filipino mythological demon. This was when I was back in HS in Vancouver, BC. Yeah, even Coast to Coast is big in canada at midnight.
Bell had the show for about 16 years.

Former hosts[edit]
Mike Siegel hosted the show from April 2000 until February 2001. He became a frequent substitute for the show’s original host, Art Bell in late 1999, and when Bell announced his retirement in early 2000, he recommended Siegel to succeed him.[4] Siegel maintained the format of the show that Bell had created, but his personal style was very different, and the show became less popular. Siegel hosted the show from Seattle, Washington, where he lived. Early in 2001, Bell decided to return, and Siegel left the show.
Other past hosts include weekend host Ian Punnett (who retired from the show due to tinnitus), Hilly Rose, Barbara Simpson and Rollye James.
In January 2012, John B. Wells replaced Punnett as host of the Saturday evening and the second Sunday evening programs. He was fired in January 2014 because the show’s producers wanted to go in a “different direction on Saturday nights”, and is now the host of his own subscriber based program, Caravan to Midnight.[5] On the February 4, 2014 episode of that program, Wells stated that he thought he had been fired from Coast to Coast because he hated Barack Obama to the point where he can’t bear the sight or sound of him, going even further to state that he avoids “even speaking his (Obama’s) name,” and that he thought Obama is a communist.
Bell was living in the Philippines, is he back in the USA? On weekends his old shows from 15 to 20 yrs ago are broadcast on WELI in Ct. This other guy, Noury comes across as an Islamist apologist>
I listened to Bell’s Somewhere in Time show via the TuneIn Radio app about a week ago. He has the same intro music as Coast to Coast. Also had the Andes pan flute filler music going to break.
Guess he set that standard with C2C and is reclaiming it.
Art Bell is Ronald Reagan, George Noory is GHW Bush.
This is interesting.
I listen online to Coast to Coast AM. Bell (may be) real competition.
We shall see.
George Noory is doing what Art Bell used to do. He’s not there to weigh whether or not the guest is saying anything at all credible. He’s allowing the guest to state his case and, if the guest makes himself interesting enough, he might have him back.
Whatever Art might have joked about, it wasn’t to cast doubt upon the guest.
After posting, I looked up Somewhere in Time. It’s just reruns of old Art Bell shows from the 90’s. Funny that I couldn’t date it. The supernatural is truly timeless, lol.

George “Snorey” is the worst. Art Bell, as well as John B. Wells, ran rings around him. I hope Art is serious this time about coming back.
There are enough fairy tales to go around.
