strap her to the roof like Aunt Edna.

Heh...I grew up on a street named Chevy Chase Drive. A couple of months ago I went to Youtube to look for videos of how it may have changed in the 50 years since I'd been back.

You can probably guess what results came back from their search mode....

I’m going to make a prediction. We will find out that they were simply a muslim family transporting a deceased relative in accordance with their customs. They will be issued an apology by any law enforcement involved, and the oil change place will institute mandatory ‘sensitivity training’ to their employees, should this ever happen again.

I’m impressed that a dead body would have the motivation to come in for an oil change. Hopefully for something monounsaturated.

Check state laws: transporting a dead body may not be against the law.

They immediately called police but the man was transporting his mother's remains from Utah to Aspermont, Texas...

What's the problem with that?

“...but the man was transporting his mother’s remains from Utah to Aspermont, Texas and had all the appropriate documentation. ...”

But not a whole lot of “common sense”.

As a tech I found that many people cars smell like a corpse.
Some people are incredible pigs. Hate to say it but women can be the worst.
