3d texture map the face onto a mannequin wearing a suit. Good to go.

Funny! He might have gotten away with it if he had chosen someone less well known. Putting “The Most Interesting Man” in the front seat invited a second look, and in this case, a ticket.

I recall a case where a hearse driver in the DC area tried to meet the HOV requirements by counting a corpse. He got cited, went to court and lost.

When the trooper stopped the car, he discovered the "passenger" was a cardboard cutout of the actor who portrays "The Most Interesting Man in the World" in Dos Equis beer ads. The driver's response? "He's my best friend." That is both funny and sad.

There was a case here in Washington a couple years back where a woman got into an accident while in the HOV lane. The WSP trooper found that she had a full-size mannequin in the passenger seat, dressed from the waist up. She was cited for improper use of the HOV lane. She took it to court. She lost.

When I lived in L.A. and had a long commute, I went to a beauty supply shop and bought a mannequin head that they use for wigs. I attached it to a box and strapped “her” in using the seatbelt. Worked like a charm. Never got a ticket in the car pool lane. I called her Diamond Lane Debbie.

The 405 on a winter dark evening, the carpool lane is just another lane.
Few two person cars.
