Are you in good shape? Able to carry a big, heavy box over slippery rocks and slushy snow? Happy not to shower for up to a month, live in close proximity to three people and 2,000 smelly penguins for five months with no power, heat or hot water and limited communications on a small island off the coast of Antarctica?
If so, we have the job for you!

You can drop my Nobel Peace Prize in the mail. In an effort to understand the nuances of the situation I decided to take Marie Harf seriously; ISIS needs jobs. Drop them all off in Antartica and our problems are solved. It'd be a great change from their current enviroment and their primitive conditions make them perfect candidates. Let's see if the Penguins care about Jihad.

As the muslims become a greater part of the population of the U.S., this is looking like a great place to take a job.

This post office was the subject of a film shown on TV about two weeks ago. A couple of women who work there, thousands of penguins who crap all over the area, and NO MTV!
Oh the horror of it.
Best part though is NO GLOBAL WARMING! No AL GORE! Guess there are some benefits to working in Antarctica.

They had me until it said no showers for a month.

Of course not, you need people with some semblance of competence for a job like this.

I applied to the National Science Foundation for a position in Antarctica back in the ‘70’s. Were I younger I’d be all over this. But then I’ve always been a hermit.

Doesn’t pay much as I found out that many jobs there do. Unless it’s changed over the years most jobs there are the lowest paying overseas jobs in the world.

Bookmark- Applied for a tower climbing job there whilst still working gainfully in Afghanistan. No luck... seems there’s hundreds of applicants applying for the simplest of jobs. Someone with a masters or doctorate will apply for a basic cooks position, so as to get their foot in the door. It’s quite fraternal from what I understand. There are high paying jobs, but due to the crush of applicants- high pay is the exception; even though one would surmise otherwise because of the austere conditions.

There is likely little cost in working there... meals, housing, laundry, transportation, etc., likely all provided. $1,250 is about right for a week down there... but a month- come on man!

You can make a tidy sum in a month.
You don’t have to pay rent or utilities.
That’s $5000 - not bad for a month’s work.
