Usual overkill by the media...bet they get 6 inches, 8 tops. Just waiting for the videos showing a mob scene at local supermarkets as everyone stocks up for a long siege. Better get the bread and milk!

Don’t forget the toilet paper!

The rule is: The more hype by the National Weather Service, the less the storm. But you can safely predict an abundance of network weather reporters standing out in the storm saying the same lame things.

I have milk and bread, but is it enough. Snow compels humans to make a lot of French Toast. I don’t know why. I just do as the big grocery store’s panicky magnet tells me to.

It’s never happened before, and one can only blame Global Warming for this calamity.

I was planning to go out food shopping today. I can just imagine all the mayhem I’m going to run into.

Actually, you can all thank me for this being a very mild winter...

...I just bought a snow-blower, and since then, it hasn’t snowed.

It’s been cold here too. Probably won’t break 65 degrees today and has started out foggy, but that should burn off by 10.

Bread, milk, eggs, cinnamon and a lot of sugar all in one package fuels the heat engine to drive the cold out of the bones. A little hot sausage and coffee added and you hardly need heat in the house.

It will snow in Massachusetts. You have to be kidding me! I can remember about all the hype that hit Buffalo NY. Heck when we got 36 - 45 inches of snow there were no reporters here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Thats like a drop in the bucket when your winter season snowfall can be over 200 inches. Stocking up the refrigerator and so forth that is done in the fall, making sure there is enough Milk, and so forth. Now that you can get Milk that can be stored on the shelf until it is opened, no more runs on the store. Toilet paper, water and soups and so forth are on hand. If the power goes out generator and there is also plenty of bottled propane for the grill.

It’s late enough in the season so the days are longer, the sun stronger and the stuff will eventually melt. Back in my MA days, these late storms are nothing special. It’s the December ones that can cause more long lasting pain.

“Better get the bread and milk!”

Don’t forget to stock up on toilet paper, too! After all, there’s always “shortages” of bread, milk and toilet paper right before a snow storm on the east coast.

I had to fire up ours yesterday for the first time. Would not start......even with the electric start. Thought I would have to shovel the entire driveway. Finally got it up and running!

I always take weather forecasts with a grain of salt. That said, my Ariens “King of the Snow” is ready to rock if needed. We moved to MA from Upstate NY 3 years ago, and the difference in the way winter behaves is interesting. Winter in Upstate NY seemed to be constant, small amounts of snow all season, with the occasional accumulation of a foot or so. Here in MA all the snow seems to happen in a couple of huge dumps, with not a lot in between. The little 30 year-old Toro we brought with us just wasn’t up to the task, so we retired it in favor of this beast of an Ariens. Bring it, baby! I’m up for 50’ rooster tails of snow shooting out of the thing.
