This could be good, could be bad depending how they treat the existence of the movie. The movie is a self contained story that didn’t leave areas for sequel. In the story the program is up and working fine until the movie plot kicks in.

So where does the tv show fit? The inception of the program? Will it rehash the events of the movie? Will it be completely new and act as if the movie never existed?

It appears Mr. Dick’s literary work continues to be re-discovered by those looking for fodder for the Hollywood machine. Dick’s “Man in the High Castle” has been developed by Amazon and the first episode is available on-line. I enjoyed it and look forward to more episodes.

on a related note: Amazon's New Series 'The Man In The High Castle' Is Amazing (PKD Novel is a new TV series)

If the Fox production of Minority Report is as good as the Amazon Pilot I'll watch. Hopefully Amazon gets enough votes on the Man in the High Castle Pilot to go ahead with a full series.

That was the only movie Poolboy Tom Cruise was in that I’ve ever liked, apart from Top Gun. :’)

I watched that on Amazon Prime last night, or rather, listened to it from here, after the first ten minutes I didn’t want to watch any more, but wanted to hear some more. :’)

This Can be an awesome TV show.

But I just dont know how long they can string out this for multiple seasons before the plot starts to go into goofy storylines.

"All black cast?"

First Blackish, then Empire, now Minority Report. What's Al Sharpton complaining about?

Maybe if they do the new short season format (like Game of Thrones or True Detective does...10 or 12 shows in a season) and do really high production and extremely good scripts they could get maybe 4 seasons out of it. But I can't see much more than that and it remain really good.

More evidence of the intellectual bankruptcy of U.S. TV & movie “entertainment” moguls. The fun, original stuff appears to have been ceded to alternative producers from other countries and is not even appearing on broadcast TV anymore; we’re finishing up the first 3 seasons of “Lillyhammer” right now.

True. True. US Studios expect every movie to be a blockbuster so they mandate that movies “appeal to everyone”. They end up with “Annie” and “Mamma Mia” and comic book movies and yet another PG knockoff of “Diehard” or “Star Trek” and on and on and zzzzzz........

Interesting....that’s about the gist of it these days...find some tried and true venue and put some black actors in it and then yell racism when no one likes it.

Of course, one could also include gays in that aspect, or a Muslim, or a Latino/Latina.....it seems most new TV shows are primarily “multi-cultural” first and then they think about whether it’s any good or not.

I watched the first episode and found it engaging. I’m hoping Amazon continues with the rest of it.

It’s difficult at best to adapt PK Dick’s stuff, and I no longer read fiction, but highly recommend his work.

I’d rather an Adjustment Bureau TV. Minority Report will just be a cop show in the end, Adjusting live could be a fun episodic show.
