now that’s a shame...
Some one missed an opportunity here- Bradbury fans would probably have paid to have this a museum or something
It seems that whoever bought it did not realize the true value of what they had.
What a shame.
He never drove (despite living in L.A.) so they didn't get together all that much, but lots of phone chat and letters.
Wow, too bad.
I understand his childhood home in Waukegan, IL (aka “Green Town” in his novel “Dandelion Wine”) still stands.
They might find something in the walls! I hope they keep an eye out.

‘tis a shame to lose the domicile that witnessed the creation of some of the most important literature of the past century.
At the same time, Ray looked to the future, let those afraid of reason, those who glorify the past and fear the future, let them build monuments to their monkish ignorance.
Ray’s monument lives in the minds of those he has reached.

The house is being torn down by Beatty and Montag demolition company.
The buyer is going to build a “REAL” house there! Location, location, location...
Dennis Miller’s Santa Barbara house is on the market. I’ll post a link if I can find one.
This has been all over the news the past couple of days. It should have been designated a National History Landmark.
Now they’re going to tear down the classic Googie-style Norms in Santa Monica!!
Sigh. Ray Bradbury’s house, and Norms will join the ranks of “Things that aren’t there anymore.”
Well one thing is for certain; Ray Bradbury at this point in time could care less about what happens to his former home. Heck I’d like to tear down my current house but moving away would be the better option.
I remember my first trip to Hollywood in 2008, I drove by to see Jimmy Stewart’s house only to find it had been torn down & was in the process of being replaced by a new McMansion. It was sad really. I wish I could’ve picked up a brick or something, but I was too shocked to think of that at the time.
