Ah, the French - where would we be without them?
Probably eating apple slices with our Big Mac down at McDonalds.
What else have the French done for us? Give me a couple days, I’m sure to come up with something.
Well, the Revolutionary War and the Battle of Verdun come to mind.
The French won the French revolution.
Of course they were fighting themselves so it wasn’t too hard to do.
Without the French we would have lost the revolutionary war. The French have been weak since then. But perhaps the French will awaken. Perhaps...
I don’t remember the French mocking us after the attack on 09/11/2001. I do remember their profession of solidarity and numerous personal financial donations to the families of the American families.
As an old Ford man, I’ve taken a lot of crap from my friends who are Chevy guys. It’s like being a Steelers fan in Northwest Ohio. When I’ve had enough I tell them, with a little increase in volume with each word spoken: “Louis Chevrolet was French!” They don’t know, they look confused and wounded and it shuts them up. :)
Up until then they had been a hereditary dictatorship, it takes a strong hand to control such mindless riff-raff.
Like Americans have any room to talk.
