Just days after the terrorists struck, Green Berets from the Fort Campbell-based 5th Group were in Afghanistan. In more than 13 years since, the Special Forces presence in the country has been a constant. Thousands of soldiers have given years out of their lives to the Afghanistan mission.
Many have been wounded.
Many have died.
In the process, they say, they have built the foundation for a future in a country that has known decades of war.
Back then, there was no (Afghan) army, Schwartz said. Really, all their equipment was predominately Soviet, and it was left over from the Soviet-Afghan war and, of course, the civil war.
But under the leadership of the Special Forces teams, the anti-Taliban militias swept across the country, liberating Kabul and moving east to Tora Bora.
Here's the full story on Green Berets rebuilding Afghanistan.
I love Special Forces, so don’t take this the wrong way, but how does one re-build a literal dung-heap?
Apostasy still carries a death sentence. FAIL
Blow it up, tear it down, try again.
” invade their countries , kill their leaders , convert them to Christianity “ - Ann Coulter -
We rebuilt it so well that they just had a record opium poppy harvest. Well done, USA!
Well it was but it's been a while.
Yes, and why are men who are trained to kill people and break things doing rebuilding?
Send them to France, Paris, and have them kill people and break things there. It is full of targets.
Then came O’.
And that dung-heap wants to continue to be a dung-heap.
Replacing cheap, outdated instruments of war with expensive, modern instruments of war. Replacing corrupt old government with corrupt new government. It is hard to imagine doing something like this in post-war Japan.
Where (what city) is this located?
Is that Detroit or Afghanistan?
Haha, It's Kabul.
That's been part of the Green Beret mission since the 60s.
Considering the Special Forces have been betrayed by this administration at times they still love our nation and there are many who love them. (((hugs))) So, with just about 3 minutes of searching I have videos starting with 2014, 2012, 2011, and 2009 of Kabul. (fast forward if needed)
