CHICAGO (CBS) A Chicago man might think twice the next time he goes into a police station to report something as stolen.
On Friday night, 31-year-old Adam Wisneski rode his bike to the Shakespeare District police station on the Northwest Side to report a stolen iPhone.
He says he didnt have his bike lock with him, and asked police if he could leave his bicycle inside the station.
They said OK, and he did. He then filled out a police report about the phone.

dude needs to start making lemonade
Not a cyclist myself, but isn't it pretty easy to always have your lock?
“Chicago, Chicago that ramblin’ town....”
He can just replace the bicycle - it shouldn’t cost more than a $100!
The bike wasn’t stolen, it was right there reporting its own theft.
You’d think there would be cameras around a police station
that may show the theft.
When I rode my bicycle full-time, I had a chain lock that wrapped around the frame and it took about three seconds to unwrap it and attach it to whatever I was going to attach it to.
U-locks typically come with a handle that attach to a bicycle frame.

Sounds like he only needs to add an addendum to his iPhone stolen report and cover both items.
Why would anybody go to the effort to file a police report in Chicago for something like a phone or even a bike? Did he have some hope the cops would run right out to find the culprit?
Bicycles, when new, usually cost about $500 for a low end and upwards of $4500 for really high end bikes.
I would never get a high end bike I I were living in Chicago.
This Jagoff probably just dumped his bike in the vestibule of the station. Sorry, if you’ve never seen this. There is a police station, with an entry door, and a stairwell; vestibule probably no more than 10-16’ square. Assholes would just dump their bikes in there, walk in and hey.
This Abortion probably did the same thing. Now he is all butthurt that some other Abortion stole his bike.
Insurance?
Not at Walmart.
Well, at least they didn’t steal the desk sergeant’s trousers while he was taking the report...
Two guys who used to live here each had 2 bikes ripped off. Neither one could be bothered to use a lock [Duh]. I keep mine locked EVERYWHERE. No problems. And, it’s just an old aluminum Diamondback mountain bike the landlord gave me years back.
Tell the cops to direct this guy to the basement of the Alamo.
