A man, 32, was sexually assaulted Friday in the French Quarter, New Orleans police said Saturday.

That’s how the prostitutes drum up business down there, just walk up to an obvious tourist white guy, grab his crotch and say “ooh, you got a big c%$& for a white dude.” Happened to me once, years ago. Broad daylight in front of the police station is more brazen than usual, though.

Nothing new in New Orleans. Years ago I saw a reprint of an old NO newspaper from around 1890 in which the editors were complaining about men dancing with men on some street corner while street musicians played a tune.

The logo printed on the New Orleans Police looks strikingly like the Moslem symbol. I guess it’s just coincidence.

Happened to me once, years ago. Broad daylight in front of the police station is more brazen than usual, though. Back in the 50s/60s, Dad was a cop in NYPD’s 41st precinct in The Bronx sometimes known and Fort Apache....later known as The Little House On The Prairie. It was on Simpson St. The hookers felt safe plying their trade there do to the violence outside of the precinct's sphere of influence.
Most of the crime problems in that area were more serious than hookers turning tricks. (Of course this was pre AIDS)
