Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner is found dead on the street with Mumia Abu-Jamal, a well-known activist and freelance journalist, lying severely wounded nearby. In 1982, Abu-Jamal was tried for and convicted of Faulkner's murder, but because of the murky circumstances surrounding the incident and a trial that many believe was unfair, activists have since protested Abu-Jamal's imprisonment.
Reportedly, Abu-Jamal, a journalist who had been fired by National Public Radio for his outspokenness, was driving a cab at around 4 a.m., when he saw his brother engaged in an altercation with Faulkner on the street. Evidence used in the trial suggested that Abu-Jamal intervened with a gun and then exchanged shots with Faulkner

Fry Mumia!
that would be a fitting tribute to Kwanza....
RIP, Daniel Faulkner. You are not forgotten.
He’s probably a hero in prison. An execution would have been better.
I thought I read somewhere that his sentence was commuted to life.
today those would be resume enhancers.
Huh???? Wes Cook (his real name) was found sitting on a curb with Faulkner's cooling body a few feet away. The gun used to shoot Faulkner point blank in the face had Cook's fingerprints all over it. Cook was wounded -- seriously (but not seriously enough) -- and ballistics later showed that the bullet that had injured him came from Faulkner's service weapon. When he arrived at the emergency room, Cook bragged -- loudly -- that he had shot Faulkner.
On at least three separate occasions, courts have reviewed the testimony, the evidence, and the proceedings and have validated the verdict every single time.
What exactly is "murky" about that?
Wesley Cook killed Lt. Daniel Faulkner in cold blood. There is NO DOUBT about that.
He and OJ Simpson are the poster children for Black Privilege. They should both be dead.
“. . .then exchanged shots with Faulkner”
Until he put the gun to Faulkner’s head and pulled the trigger.
Please add me to the Philly ping list.
RIP. Daniel Faulknwr.
Funny, I don’t remember riots in the streets over the cop’s death by someone of a different race.
The .38 revolver was also registered / purchased by him.
It was. He used to be near here in SCI Greene about 25 miles away. Don’t know if he still is.
IMHO the person in question should be put aboard a C-130 and taken up to 25,000 feet. Then the ramp should be lowered and the appropriate persons should FREE MUMIA!!!
The History Channel has a leftist, anti-American streak that you must become aware of. Lots of stories are by little known “historians” or people who pretend to be historians and this is one of the worst.
Notice all the weasel words this story has:
“murky circumstances” - eyewitnesses, forensics, bragging
“unfair” - the trial and appeals were very fair
“reportedly” - either your are fired or your are not
“suggested” - Bullshit
I think you get my drift.
Just because a TV show claims that it is “History”, don’t accept it on its face. As Reagan said “Trust but Verify”.
I say, based on 45 years in the journalism field and as a professional history, “Don’t Trust Until You Verify” because there are a lot of cheats, poseurs, wackos and anti-American journalists who will take you to the cleaners every time unless you factcheck them and hold the “showing” medium to accuracy, re the Rolling Stone magazine article on the supposedly rape at the Un. of Va.
Never trust the media. I know. I’ve been in it since 1968 and it is corrupt as hell for the most part.
At first I thought this piece was either:
1) Satire, because there are so many qualifiers.
Or, 2) Some activist left-wing site that has an agenda.
Sadly, it's the history channel.
Lower caps intended.
I see a Presidential pardon coming in early January 2016.
What are the odds?
and I'd give it 50/50.
DONE !!!
