I don’t know about CO2 but rice paddies are a major source of methane gas, and methane is worse for global warming than CO2.

Much of China’s “decrease in emissions” was from switching from constant watering to periodic watering of the rice crop. Of course, this means you use chemicals to kill weeds instead of water, but it does cut down greenhouse gas emissions....and the western press didn’t read between the lines and assumed they cut their industrial use of dirty coal. Duh.

You need to read the first paragraph of the article again. The headline accurately reflects the article’s lede.

1st sentence - CO2 levels INCREASE during growing season

2nd sentence - they INCREASE again when plants release their CO2

First it was cow farts, and fossil fuels, now it’s the basic grains we eat. All modified to feed more people than normal. As we are the bread basket of the world now.

When I was a teen it was Global Cooling, now I’m in my 60’s it’s Global Warming.

Then why is it most of the US HAS SNOW and below average temps this early in the Fall?

I don’t want to hear a word about my small garden of veggies and fruit effecting the air.

...and when the conservatives are in control, the grant money going to the SAME “scientists” will provide the opposite finding. Amazing how MONEY can affect science. Result=you cannot believe a scientist anymore.

What scientists?

Notice that the article harps on carbon release but never mentions carbon absorption.

Plants absorb CO2 during the day to retain the carbon (C) to sustain plant growth, releasing the oxygen (O2) back into the atmosphere. This process is reversed at night, though at a much lower rate; the plant discarding unused CO2. This is not complex chemistry, it is high school biology. A hydroponics setup easily proves a plant must get its carbon from the air & it must use more CO2 than it releases if the plant is to grow. Duh!

These AGW traffickers are the main source of obnoxious CO2 release on this planet.

Crops give off CO2 as they grow?

This article makes no sense. The author thinks plants breathe oxygen????

They want mass starvation.

People are easier to control that way.

It worked for Stalin in Ukraine.
