Whoopi Goldberg is rising to Bill Cosby's defense as claims he raped more than a dozen women begin to mount. The View star expressed skepticism today about allegations by Barbara Bowman that the 77-year-old comedian drugged and sexually assaulted her in 1985. Ms Bowman said that she went to a lawyer, who laughed at her when she tried to say that Cosby had sexually assaulted her multiple times when she was an aspiring actress and model. Goldberg asked why Ms Bowman didn't go to the authorities for proof that she was raped.

As for Whoopi, she’s great on screen, but defines bimbo when off of it. As such, it’s hard to take anything she says seriously. The Cos needs better (and more intelligent) defense than this.

Someone is behind this sudden push, which seems artificial and coordinated. Maybe it’s revenge for Cosby telling young black men to stop dressing and acting like thugs. To some folks, having an opinion that being a good person requires some form of restraint equals someone who is a control freak and hates everyone who is different. There is no gray area between good and bad, when there is not enough grey matter to make the distinction.

I’m skeptical too, but it doesn’t help to have Whoopi Goldberg say this after her apologia for “rape rape” Roman Polanski.
Roman was a white on white thing. Bill is a black on white thing?
Just maybe, possibly, in a billion years, that might possibly, maybe make a tiny little possible difference to a black racist like Oprah.
Sorry, I mean Whoopi.
I don’t know if the allegations are true or not, but I wouldn’t want Whoopi backing me up if I were ever accused of such a thing.
