The Weekly Gardening Thread is a weekly gathering of folks that love soil, seeds and plants of all kinds. From complete newbies that are looking to start that first potted plant, to gardeners with some acreage, to Master Gardener level and beyond, we would love to hear from you. This thread is non-political, although you will find that most here are conservative folks.
No matter what, you wont be flamed and the only dumb question is the one that isnt asked. It is impossible to hijack the Weekly Gardening Thread. There is no telling where it will go and... that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us!
NOTE: This is a once a week ping list. We do post to the thread during the week. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest are welcomed, so feel free to post them at any time.
I thought we would be back in time to hook up and post. Just didn't happen. Apologies to all.
Just a reminder that ArrowHead 1952 was injured and needs prayers. Link is below for anyone who missed the news last week.

Prayers up for ArrowHead 1952.
Pinging the List.
Feels like January up here in NW Iowa, greeneyes.
No more gardening here for this year!
But, we sure are still enjoying the fruit of a fine 2014 growing season!
Thanks for fixing the link.
Thank you! For focusing on God;s creation, and His beauty. Bless you, and your work. In His name.
I miss TrappedInLiberalHell ‘s garden imput what a nice long gone freeper
Sure. I know how easy it is to forget that links aren’t automatically made live in the initial comment section when you post a new thread.
We are enjoying our harvest too. Still have some stuff under row covers, but they may not make it. Basil and lemon tree is all we have indoors for now.
Once we get cold weather like this, I start canning. Just canned 20 lbs of turkey on sale for 75 cents per lb. Got a couple of more for the freezer.
Have a bunch of tomatoes frozen to make salsa or spaghetti sauce - working on a very mild salsa recipe for hubby, so just doing a pint each time until I find the recipe he likes.
Feels like winder here. The wind blew pumpkins off the deck rail and acorn squash 30’ down the deck.
Thank you for your kind words.
We still have watermelons in the cold storage room. The kids eat at least one per day.
And there is still squash all over the place we haven’t got around to freezing yet. Pumpkins, butternuts, and some others. Bushels and bushels of them. They’ve held up remarkably well, with only a tiny handful going bad so far.
Other than that, nothing, nada, zip.
I've had to change income streams, and everything is in chaos around here right now. Bad enough that I thought a wife might help (yet another)..... but I got over that idea pretty quickly. ;)

We are all getting older, and we miss those FRiends who are no longer with us.
Continued prayers for Arrowhead, and a few other FReepers who have asked for prayer. God knows who they are!
God Bless you all, and stay warm.
I am jealous - we have no luck growing watermelons, and the stores have no local melons to buy - inferior taste and not worth the price for what they have right now.
He was a nice guy and I’m so sad his depression won out I have delt with it most of my adult life and thought many times of The final decision but I love my family and friends to much
Welcome back - I was afraid you had run off to the wilderness to live off the land. I find it hard to believe you even considered getting hitched again - Mr I can do what I want, cause I’m not hitched.
Thanks.
