FULLTITLE: Police force pregnant woman to the ground at gunpoint for speeding - even though she was in LABOR and on the way to the hospital
A pregnant woman in Iowa had a particularly difficult labor this week when she was held at gunpoint on her way to the hospital.
Rachel Kohnen and her husband Ben were going 30 miles over the speed limit on Tuesday morning in Fort Dodge, Iowa, as Rachel was in labor and felt that if the two did not get to the hospital soon she was going to give birth in a car.
Around that time, a police officer turned on his sirens to pull the couple over, but they kept going.

Stupid Cops Alert.
They kept going.
Every body is stupid now a days it seems.
The cops taught that baby a lesson about speeding.
Force was excessive particularly with a pregnant woman. However, it would not be a difficult thing to call ahead and inform police, maybe even ask for an escort or for EMT to meet them.
They were on the phone with 911, but it was too late. The baby was coming and they just could not stop. I’m going to guess they were in a state of panic. Most people don’t know that police officers can deliver babies. Then again if there are complications the mom may want to hurry up and get to hospital.
Anymore I'm afraid that aside from the Park County, Wyoming Sheriff's Department I have very little trust in police. It's not just because some of them do the wrong thing, it's because MOST of them will cover for the few. Usually at a citizen's expense.
THANKS for your words of common sense, especially without the usual Freeper anti-cop rhetoric.
They can also maim them without repercussion, as I seem to recall that they got immunity.
I don't know if I believe that they had called 911 and "it was too late." You paint a picture of some pretty stupid sorry-a** people having a baby. Woe to that baby with numbnut parents like them.

...
How do you know that?
Thirty miles an hour over the speed limit, imagine the crash that would have been. Getting Safely to the hospital should be the main concern, not flying down the highway 30 miles an hour over the speed limit, also there are other folks on the roads who don’t need their lives endangered because expectant parents are panicking.
I’m repeating what the article said. I was not there. I can believe they were in a state of panic and were not thinking. Most people do not think these things out while they are happening or ahead of time.
I’m willing to bet this is their first baby by the sounds of things. Had this been their third or forth baby they would have just said “oh skip it” and had a home delivery.
Maybe the officer needs a new eyeglass prescription.
From the headline. I take it you feel that forcing a woman about to go into labor to the ground at gunpoint is not excessive?
From the headline.
...
How accurate and detailed is the headline?
Are they Jews?
I think there’s a Braille system available for various computer systems.
Cops were stupid, but then so was she. Cops make the same mistake with speed in an emergency. She and they forget this little life lesson.
“What is the first thing you have to do to win a race?” Answer? “Finish the race.”
Simply put, even in an emergency, you have to measure your speed. If you don’t make it, no amount of speed will do you any good.
Ever notice the difference between police and fire rescue at intersections. Cops blast through, counting on people to realize that a cop is coming at full throttle. Fire and ambulance guys slow down, blast the horn, etc. How often do you hear about them getting into a wreck at an intersection. They don’t assume or get caught up in the excitement of the moment.
First, worry about finishing the race. Then worry about finishing it a little faster.
