They were on the phone with 911, but it was too late. The baby was coming and they just could not stop. I’m going to guess they were in a state of panic. Most people don’t know that police officers can deliver babies. Then again if there are complications the mom may want to hurry up and get to hospital.

I don't know if I believe that they had called 911 and "it was too late." You paint a picture of some pretty stupid sorry-a** people having a baby. Woe to that baby with numbnut parents like them.

I’m repeating what the article said. I was not there. I can believe they were in a state of panic and were not thinking. Most people do not think these things out while they are happening or ahead of time.

I’m willing to bet this is their first baby by the sounds of things. Had this been their third or forth baby they would have just said “oh skip it” and had a home delivery.

Our first and third were precipitous. No signs of labor until my water broke, babies each arrived about 45 minutes to an hour later. With number two the doc tried to send me home. I refused and the nursing staff backed me. While not precipitous, had I gone home my husband would have delivered her on the side of the highway.
