Orthodox rabbis on guns

The Rabbinical Council of America released this resolution two months ago:

In response to the terrible proliferation of fatal shootings in the United States that result in part from Americans’ easy access to lethal weapons, a brief yet comprehensive 2014 resolution of the 1000+ members of Rabbinical Council of America addresses gun usage and ownership in the United States from personal, legal, cultural, and religious perspectives. Asserting the Torah’s perspective that war, weaponry, and violence are “necessary evils in our unredeemed world” as well as the Torah’s view that, contrary to some strains of American culture, such matters must be approached with appropriate gravitas even when warranted, the RCA favors restricting Americans’ easy access to weapons and ammunition and encourages all to desist from recreational activities that desensitize participants to killing, weaponry, and violence.

Was ready to jump all over the RCA, but then saw that the JOINT STATEMENT BY THE GOLANI RIFLE & PISTOL CLUB did a much better job than I would have...

Any Jew who supports restrictions on firearms and ammo after what happened in Europe in the 1930’s and ‘40’s is an effin’ idiot.

Hitler agreed with that point of view.

In other words, the rabbis have chosen to live by every word that proceedeth out of the mouths of Democrats and ignore the Torah.

They may as well have said, “God doesn't know what He's talking about, but that Harry Reid and Pelosi, what geniuses!”

I'm trying to remember how the American soldiers defeated Hitler and let the people out of the concentration camps.

Was it an intense dialogue with Hitler and his aides...
..hmmm no...not quite that...

Let's see...was it when the American soldiers came after the Nazis with rubber chickens...no...

...Wait, I have it! Good guys with guns defeated the bad guys with guns.

(hits head) “What a meshuganah I am!”

I forget what the Israeli soldiers carry to keep Israel safe.

Is it 5 rocks and a slingshot like David?

Is is a fly swatter to paddle the tushies of the naughty Muslims?

A can of matzo ball soup to throw at a Palestinian bent on killing the soldier's children?

We cannot convince this generation of optimistic fools. All we can do is work to teach the next generation that guns are good, not just a necessary evil. God made men, but Samuel Colt made them equal (an important consideration for sensible women, who if not distracted by the Democrat war on women would choose to be the most pro-gun Americans).

As a strong supporter of Israel and the Jewish people-and a Catholic-I find it interesting that this Orthodox Rabbi has a problem with guns because of his ancient religious text while Muslims have NO problem with theirs. Whose religion is under attack? Whose religion/people/country is faced with threats of annihilation? With this Rabbi’s philosophy Orthodox Jews will be the first wiped out cause pacifistic beliefs are nice on paper-but they are suicide when up against Nazism/Islam.

Guns aren’t the problem any more than a hammer is a problem. They are slaves to the fallen, corrupt spirits of humans. Until the weapon is placed into the hand of a human, it’s an inanimate chunk of metal which simply sets where placed, and does absolutely nothing. The bullets aren’t the problem, nor is the caliber of the weapon a problem. Those all fall under the inanimate chunks of metal until in the hand of humans.

Want to fix the gun issue? Fix the human issue first. When the human issue gets fixed, or is in better condition, then the lust for ultimate power of governments issue can clear up.

Guns aren’t the problem. People are. And that includes those in powerful positions who don’t have brains enough to realize truth.

When did Jews move from the position of “Never Again!” to “may I please have another?”.
