Men like Major Gant IS what wins hearts and minds. He IS the solution in Afghanistan instead is forced into retirement. Therein lies the problem.
There was a post about this guy a few days ago. I seem to recall that the piece said that he painted his jeep like that so that the natives that he had made friends with would know it was he when they saw it.
I could feel sorry for him for his fate if I had not learned this about him from a thread a few days ago. When he and the journalist slut hooked up, each was married and each had 4 children.

Kind of ironic considering that Petraeus also had his career ended by conducting an extramarital affair.
I guess neither of them were Democrats like Bill Clinton.
