HERE IN MARYLAND, it is impossible to travel too far in any direction without seeing something that celebrates the legacy of author and environmentalist Rachel Carson. There is a greenway trail and a conservation park named for her here, an alma mater university and a Rachel Carson grade school there and, of course, the Silver Spring home where she would write Silent Spring, the hot-button 60s work that is often cited as the spark that ignited the modern environmental movement.

Google has a white wash doodle for Rachel Carson's B'Day. No mention how Carson's book and subsequent banning of DDT resulted in the death of millions in the Third World when malaria came back with a vengeance. But to the Left killing millions for a cause is their modus operandi.

I don’t click on WaPo links. Can you post a pic of the doodle?

this mass murder killed millions in tropical lands and has us using dangerous poisons, where DDT is 100% safe for humans and can even be eaten by humans.

I hate her. I absolutely hate her.
Six weeks ago, I had yet another bout of malaria -CURSE YOU, RACHEL CARSON- but I had TWO DIFFERENT TYPES at the same time. She has, with that book, caused much needless suffering in this world.

Amen! Memorial Day at Google was a miniature flag but this mass-murderer/writer/genocidist deserves her big day and animation. Shame on them!

she’s an example of an extremist having too much say over what our official policies will be. She had an agenda, and pushed that agenda, regardless of the costs to society, or other countries.

Her movement, though de facto genocide for millions in the third world,
fulfilled its intended purpose perfectly -
generating feelings of self-righteousness in liberals.

Maryland is THE Freak state. They apparently adore this mass-murderer. LIBs are such uber-idiots. To those "living" in Maryland...Leave while you can.

No mention how Carson's book and subsequent banning of DDT resulted in the death of millions in the Third World when malaria came back with a vengeance. But the victims were mostly black. Wasn't that sorta the point? (/liberal)

I would say, in Montgomery County. I don’t hear too much about her even nearby in super-liberal Howard. Never knew she was anywhere near until I was maybe college age, and I’m pretty savvy about all kinds of things.
I think it’s hilarious her house is on the historic register - it’s a standard-design early mass-development medium house. And as I recall she wasn’t here that long. But limo liberals love their religion of environmentalism, and she is a prophet to them, so there you go.
