ROMANIA: Constanza: KptLt. Helmut Rosenbaum, commander of the 30th U-Flotilla based in the Black Sea, is killed in an air crash. He is promoted posthumously to KKpt.
ALGERIA: Algiers: The Free French estimate that there are 175,000 resistance fighters in France.
CANADA:
Frigate HMCS Jonquiere commissioned.
Corvette HMCS Sudbury completed forecastle extension refit Vancouver.
Corvette HMCS Shediac arrived Esquimalt from Halifax.
U.S.A.: James V. Forrestal becomes US Secretary of the Navy to succeed the late Colonel W Franklin Knox.
Commander and Chief, Pacific Fleet/Pacific Ocean Areas, Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, issued the first
orders to plan the assault on the Palau Islands of Peleliu and Angaur. Peleliu would become the primary target of the operation
code-named Stalemate II. Commanders and forces were assigned as follows:
— Vice Admiral Theodore S. Wilkinson commanded the Third Amphibious Force.
— Major General Roy S. Geiger commanded the III Amphibious Corps comprised of ground troops from the 1st Marine
Division (Peleliu) and the Army’s 81st Infantry Division (Angaur).
— Major General William H. Rupertus commanded the 1st Marine Division. Under his command were 1st Marines
commander Colonel Lewis B. “Chesty” Puller, 5th Marines commander Colonel Harold D. Harris, 7th Marines commander

This NY Times report during the war is as explicit as anyone could expect, including descriptions of mass murders in gas chambers (a typo on the beginning year, should be: 1941) and a remarkable estimate of five & a half million Jews murdered so far.
The report from Hungary itself is somewhat inaccurate.
One million is roughly the total of pre-war Hungarian Jews, of whom around 250,000 survived the war.
Of the remainder, 440,000 are "now" being shipped to Auschwitz and of those 90% will be immediately gassed.
The fate of the remainder is not clear, but, for example, 42,000 Hungarian Jewish forced laborers died on the Russian front in 1942-43.
Where’s Soros?

The Irony just hit me: Hitler wanted to kill everyone from the Eastern German border to past Moscow and take over the land for Germany. The Soviets eventually took over that land and killed a lot of locals along the way.

He bought them forged papers and he bribed a government official to take 14-year-old George Soros in and swear that he was his Christian godson.

While hundreds of thousands of Hungarian Jews were being shipped off to the death camps, George Soros accompanied his phony godfather on his appointed rounds, confiscating property from the Jews.

KROFT: 'Went out, in fact, and helped in the confiscation of property from the Jews.'
Mr. SOROS: 'Yes. That's right. Yes.'
KROFT: 'I mean, that's–that sounds like an experience that would send lots of people to the psychiatric couch for many, many years. 'Was it difficult?'
Mr. SOROS: 'Not–not at all. Not at all.
Maybe as a child you don't–you don't see the connection.
But it was–it created no–no problem at all.'
KROFT: 'No feeling of guilt?'
Mr. SOROS: 'No.'
KROFT: 'For example that, 'I'm Jewish and here I am, watching these people go.
I could just as easily be there.
I should be there.' None of that?'
Mr. SOROS: 'Well, of course I c–I could be on the other side or I could be the one from whom the thing is being taken away.
But there was no sense that I shouldn't be there, because that was–well, actually, in a funny way, it's just like in markets–that if I weren't there–of course, I wasn't doing it, but somebody else would–would–would be taking it away anyhow.
And it was the–whether I was there or not, I was only a spectator, the property was being taken away. So the–I had no role in taking away that property.
So I had no sense of guilt.'
Author: "Of course most of us here are already aware of Mr. Soros' highly questionable actions during the Nazi occupation. (Though the public at large undoubtedly has a different perspective, if they know anything about his earlier days at all.)
"But the statements he made in this interview to my mind are quite chilling.
He forgives himself everything.
He says that if he hadn't done it somebody else would have.
"All of which would seem to indicate that Mr. Soros has no conscience.
A lack of conscience is said to be a common symptom of sociopaths."
Of course, (now BJK speaking), whoever would concern themselves with George Soros Holocaust past, when the real threat to our republic is those billionaire Koke brothers and their conservative causes! </sarc>
By any yardstick he is an evil man.
Did he ever step inside a church during that time? Why not say …by–by posing as a Gentile?
That's one of those things the Left continually does to separate itself from National Socialism and the Holocaust.

When the engine is heavily loaded and running at full power, injecting water into the fuel-air mixture, or directly into the cylinder cools the combustion chamber. A cooler combustion chamber permits a denser fuel-air mix and can reduce knocking.
My understanding of water injection is that it doesn't provide much of a benefit at normal power settings.
