Dr. Frank Jobe, a pioneering orthopedic surgeon who was the first to perform an elbow procedure that became known as Tommy John surgery and saved the careers of countless major league pitchers, died Thursday. He was 88.

You must always take care when using the words doctor and who in any sentence, the next thing you know there will be a big blue police box next to you.
Dr. Jobe operated on my sister in the 1970s. He was in high demand and she was fortunate to get him. RIP good doctor.

I was always under the impression that the surgeon who fixed Tommy John was David Altchek.

For us geeks, we had to read that headline about 50 times.

That Doctor Who in titles usually catches my attention and then the rest.
That procedure has really changed baseball, especially in the last 10 years or so when they really got it down pat. Not sure if it’s all for the better, but at least some of it is.

My first reaction was the same: “Doctor Who?” which one?
You saved the careers of many pitchers.
RIP.
He died fighting the Daleks. He’s a hero.
It’ll turn out that The Doctor is really The Master.
