Morning! We bought one of those pre-seasoned packages of London Broil for dinner tonight from Ji’niggle. Probably watch a movie on the Roku. Boy, we’re getting a LOT of use out of that!

We’ve been holding off on the Roku until all the vehicles are through inspection. Maybe next month we’ll get a Roku for the bedroom tv.

Meanwhile our romantic dinner will be either cajun spaghetti or the twofer special st Pizza Hut, LOL.

Oh, did you see how the Robertsons are sticking it to A&E? A&E has been running tons of DD trying to burn it out. No problem. Duck Commander just bought the TITLE RIGHTS to the Spring NASCAR race at Texas Motor Speedway for the next three years and an option for three more!

It will be called the Duck Commander race with NO connection to DD or A&E.

That cost A LOT OF CASH! Wouldn’t be surprised to see Sarah and Todd there. Maybe even Ted Cruz.

The Roku is our Valentine’s gift to each other - according to Mr S! lol!

Good for the Robertsons! I was wondering why the constant line of DD repeats. We’ve seen most of them already. I’m ready for a new season!

I was on the “AlL Recipes” channel on the Roku last night (after Mr S went to bed and I got a crack at it!) They took pork tenderloin, put it in a crockpot with a can of rootbeer and let it cook for 7 or 8 hours. Then, they shredded it and added their own BBQ sauce. I’m trying it!

Good morning n’@! happy Cupid day!!!

Boy does that sound good. Pepsi (NOT Coke) makes a great marinade too (it gets sweet & syrupy) then sprinkle w/Tony Scherra (I don’t remember the last name, but it’s RED handwriting on a GREEN canister—that looks almost like a parm cheese container same type of rotating top too). The Iggle sells it.

Two of my neighboring twps are under a state if emergency—NO salt. Their schools are closed. Our roads (Twp & PennDOT) are covered (residential sts really bad). Our sd open (but we only have a half day). If we get more snow today/tonight it should be interesting. Found out that the usual VFD response to accidents has been delayed (a chief or asst assesses damage and calls out crew as needed). Those guys using 4wds, roads too bad yesterday for fire trucks to be out unnecessarily.

Spring thaw can’t come fast enough.

Also...did you read that Willie Robertson (when he was in DC for State of the Union) bought dinner for Cruz, Hannity, Gohmert etc at Ruth’s Chris and because the restaurant stayed open til 2a he tipped staff at $5k. I read it on Twitter right after SOTU (it was supposed to be keep quiet but apparently someone leaked to TMZ).

That is Tony Chachere’s Cajun seasoning! It is THE BEST! Better than Emeril’s or McCormick. Well known in this home!

Roads here are fine but salt is low. The quake near Cleveland affected that mine and the lakes frozen over is keeping supplies from the upper midwest from reaching us.

It seems God’s plan for the Robertsons is way more than duck calls and a tv show. They may be used to awake and unite those in flyover country similar to Sarah.

Wow, didn’t know this thread existed....miss Q&R in the AM, they were replaced with utter gibberish posing as a news program.

That’s it! We love that stuff. I recall getting a text at work on a Friday “Mom, you making eggs tomorrow? If so, we’re ALMOST out of creole stuff.”

It works great (but you already know that!!!) on a roast that’s been cooked in crockpot all day in a can of Pepsi...salty, hot, tangy sweet. I add that seasoning towards the end.

Morning coolbreeze!

I started this thread around the 2008 elections. I was hoping there were other Q&R listeners that wanted to talk about the issues on the show. We have been going strong since then. I thought Q@R being off the air would be a fatal blow to our thread, but we have a dedicated group that meets every morning. Sometimes just a comment, and many just lurk and read what’s being talked about. I was asked to keep it going and so I’ve done. We’re all hoping our favorite talk show hosts are back on the air after their non-compete agreement is up. Don’t be shy - join us. We’re not all from the Pittsburgh area. I live 60 miles away, one is in Indiana State, another in Wisconsin, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Georgia and even from Germany. We all miss Quinn and Rose!

Was going to wait until Monday to post this but it was too good not ti...or bad depending on your perspective.

Just replied to a post on Fark about McDonald's in FL having Valentine's Day dinners.

Smeggy Smurf: Funny thing is, for some people this would be special. Imagine the old couple that had nothing when they first got together. Some of them are going to fondly remember their first splurges while dating by going there. My folks do the same with Taco Johns.

Mrs p6 and I have been married over 35 years...how much more I forget. Three great kids and 5 grand kids at last count. I suggested we go to McDonald's for Valentine's dinner tonight but we settled on China Buffet King.

Turned out pretty good. After we were seated a car caught fire and exploded right outside the window where we were. After a FARKING THIRTY DOLLAR + tip meal and the fiery entertainment I got to stop at Beer World (where our oldest son is the manager) and get a case.

Next stop was to gas the car and play a couple of lottery tickets. When we went to leave a Granny Clampett look a like with a heavy, deep Appalachian accent got out of an older red Grand Am pleading for help.

The story was her car wouldn't start and she had to get to Pittsburgh International Airport but was lost. She was EXTREMELY nervous and panicky and didn't have a ticket but HAD to get to California tonight. Weird miss matched luggage in her car too.

We gave her SIMPLE directions, which she had a hard time grasping. When we started to leave she jumped out of her car again crying that it wouldn't start. We were in our old Saturn not our Durango so I didn't have jumper cables with me but I tried to start it.

First thing was the key lock was messed up....really messed up. Almost like it had been jimmied. Opening the hood I found a newish battery but the positive cable was almost rotted off and the negative cable wasn't screwed down.

Long story short I got the car going and she left....IN A HURRY!

Almost as good a Valentine's day as 4 years ago when I was taking mrs prisoner6 to work and a tree fell on top of our Druango. Managed to swerve through the branches but the tree hit power lines, started a pretty good fire and the road was closed and power was out for the area all day.

So how was YOUR Valentine's day????

Ha! Sounds like you had an exciting evening! So you guys had a ringside seat to see the exploding car! I hope nobody was hurt! Did you get to sit there and watch while the firefighters came and put it out (as you sipped your Chinese tea?) LOL!

Sounds like the granny lookalike was either off her meds or ON something. Maybe she needed to get to California so she could get her next supply of gunja-grass! Nice of yunz to stop and help her.

Our Valentines day was very, ah, ‘sedate’? compared to yours. Mr S grilled beef tenderloin with garlic and mushroom green beans, candied carrots and mashed potatoes on the side. I made strawberry shortcake for dessert. We watched “The King’s Speech” via the Roku. Old folks at home!

I remember the tree across the road! You posted a picture of it on here!

I’m up early. Stressing about my job. Our microfilm is messed up. The girls who scanned the images (part-timers) missed shots - or entire filings. The developer has all of them out of order and in different sizes or just plain unreadable. Does nobody take pride in a job well done any more?? And my boss won’t hire a full time person because of budget constraints. Stupid stuff to be lying awake stressing about!

WOW...you had quite the exciting Cupid day. We had a dinner I made (tuna casserole...a request from 16 yr old who has the orthodontic expanded from Hell in his mouth right now). Then I went to Pinochle w/my Card Club (none of the 8 of us had plans :( ). Sigh.

Exploding car!?! Nutty lady quickly leaving the 412?!? I really do have a boring life...though I AM getting a DQ sundae later (belated Cupid Day).

I too remember P6 driving thru the branches...that is an amazing story...I remember thinking (when you posted it) “your Gaurdian Angel was w/you both.”

Sneakers...I am convenienced that very few workers take pride in their work. I always remember the MLK quote “if you are a street sweeper, sweep your streets like Michaelangelo painted pictures.” We don’t use planograms where I work, so I get to “creatively display” the shelves/end caps. But then again I could just be OCD ...

:) yinz have a good Sunday n’@!

There is a DQ near you? The last one near us closed years ago. IIRC they are now something like softee or soft top but NOTHING like DQ!

very few workers take pride in their work.

When I came in to work tonight at 7 PM I asked the outgoing guy if the recorded weather forecasts were in. (They usually never are so I have to redo them.)

He assured me they were OK but I listened and they were all up cut.

IOW instead of "Tonight we'll have partly cloudy skies..." it was "ight we'll have partly cloudy skies..."

I played them for him and he had no clue. NONE.

It's a minor thing but still where is the pride in what you are doing? He...and management, as far as that goes, could care less.

I can't stands stupid no more.

Well...I never got the Fudge Brownie Delight Saturday night (PaDad fell asleep in his chair). Tonight it is snowing (again!!!) roads are covered (low to NO salt out here...son is thinking delay tomorrow and no school Tuesday (snow/freezing rain Monday night thru Tuesday morning)...so I may not get my PROMISED dessert til the July thaw:(

And yep...there IS a DQ and it even has a Brazier (open year round) if you and Mrs P6 are ever going east on the TPike, take the Irwin exit, and go 4 lights on 30W...there is a left hand turning lane (and it’s next to our swanky NEW Dunkin Donuts).

Any wonder why I can’t lose weight?!? LOLZ...I blame my zip code!
