The “Duck Dynasty” guys are standing by their man. And sadly the A&E gang is standing with the politically correct cult of denial, which wants to muzzle the free speech of those with whom it disagrees.
This is all the result of one of the “Duck Dynasty” guys, Phil Robertson, stating what he and many millions of Americans believe about the Bible and homosexuals in a GQ magazine interview. Welcome to the culture-war party, Phil. State a commonly held belief and watch the other side go ballistic. You will learn to love the line drawn in the sand. I’ve been dancing on it for 50 years.

Obama's beer spectacle in the Rose Garden was merely yet another chapter in his ongoing dog and pony show. Any "man" who tries to prove he's a man by drinking beer when he would really rather have a cup of organic herbal tea is no man.
Everyone has the right to do what they have done. Robertson has the right to say what he did. A&E has the right to fire him, and we have the right to not watch A&E.
Right——but a “Just society” (Justice is the Queen of Virtue) would promote Virtue in the culture and the promotion of Vice would be unconstitutional and possibly punished—if not only discouraged.
Satanic ethics are NOT protected Rights from the Creator—an irrational act which uses human beings as an “Means” to an end for selfish lust. It is dehumanizing and removes dignity from human beings-—reducing Life producing act to fecal material—nihilism.
The “Right” to say sodomy is really a Virtue (a lie) doesn’t exist in a Justice System (based on the laws of nature OR Revelation, which is the US Jurisprudence system which evolved from Common Law, a Christian concept.)
Only Truth is promoted in “Just” law and encouraged in the public square—lies are exposed, and cultures like the Satanic one today where laws actually protect Vice is actually unconstitutional.
Civil society demands dignity and respect for all humanity-—the weak, the old, whomever, and promotion of evil, dehumanizing behavior should be discouraged, and even punished, like stealing, murder—any Vice—including sodomy.
Socrates stated that to remain a Free Republics, Virtue has to be promoted. Machiavelli stated that Virtue was particularly essential in a military. Now the US promotes and glorifies and protects Sodomy (Vice) in our military. Unconstitutional. Machiavelli stated that promoting Vice in the military will destroy it. Vice breeds only Vice. We know why after hundreds of year-—Vice is now embraced in obama’s military-—to destroy it. He is purging it right now of all Christian Ethics and Christian pastors-—and protecting Satanic religions-—islam, wicca, other irrational ethical systems which deny Natural Rights from groups or don’t believe in God-Given unalienable Natural Rights.
There is no Natural Right to sodomize others from our Creator (US LAW)-—it is a Vice and as such should still be illegal or discouraged in other ways. Dehumanizing behaviors-—like slavery/prostitution/sodomy-—need to be discouraged in a true “Justice System” which guarantees Natural Rights to every human being which are ONLY God-Given Rights in the US.
But Truth and Reason are being suppressed in our Satanic White House-—which glorifies and embraces evil/vice 24/7. Totally unconstitutional. They are also programming children to flip their ethical system in their Marxist public school system (Common Core/Race to the Top)-—from the proven Christian Ethical system (the Age of Reason/USA) to the Satanic ethics of muslims, pagans, Marxists, Wundt, etc.

You must have missed the Nugent/Robertson 2016 bumper sticker the other day.
Well, we may not have a “just” society, but we have one that is supposedly governed by the Constitution, which protects us from interference from the government in free expression. Robertson may say what he wants, A&E may fire him, we may boycott A&E, all protected from government interference.
If it’s government interference you want, move to Russia.
I see this Duck Dynasty furor as a bigger issue than the ones espoused so far.
It’s not just about Phil’s 1st Amendment rights of freedom of speech and religion. Or just about the gays right to pressure A&E to dump Phil. Or just about A&E’s right to “fire” him from his own reality show. Or even just about the Cracker Barrel pulling an “Oops!” reversal and admitting they pulled the trigger too quickly on the wrong customer base. These are all the case but not the real reasons why this incident with Phil’s GQ interview and the GLADD attack are important.
I sense that this is a moment when history will show that the left and their fellow travelers jumped the proverbial shark and the mainstream American people, who make up the “silent majority”, started to push back against decades of PC speech and actions dictated by the liberals. The sleeping giant has been awakened. No longer will people bite their tongues and keep quiet for fear of the attacks by the left for being insensitive or offensive. It is time for the silent majority to push back against this PC crap and indoctrination shoved down our throats for too long.
And what better time to start than by defending Phil Robertson?
I suppose some(most) on the left thought the sheep in fly over country would just curl up and whimper in the corner. Looks like they supposed wrong. They more than likely thought this would NOT be relevant for more than a day or two. Oops. Wrong again. As for Phil........... Don’t think if ruffled any feathers. Just proves, once again, how hateful and intolerant the party of inclusiveness is. Drivin’ the wrong way on Diversity Way again.
I agree with your assessment, this is a time and an instance for grabbing the attention of the basic hard working Americans. We Christians have turned the other cheek, endured verbal abuse, and suppression of our rights, and done so without vicious attack back on those attacking us.
We are taught to honor our leaders, and it is time for a clean sweep of many of the liberal progressives among them. Legally and emphatically.
Pray for the restoration of America to our former values and faith in the LORD God and His Son Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen..
