FR is my social media.
I thought I'd make a list of A&E affiliated companies.
If people are interested in boycotting A&E over the firing of Phil Robertson, A&E is owned by Hearst and Disney/ABC. Taking a boycott beyond A&E to the parent companies other businesses can really hit them where it counts.
If people are interested in posting on Facebook or whatever go right ahead.
My sources were Wikipedia.
Always.
bump
wouldn’t it be grand if DD bought A&E???
I still wonder who owns the rights to the show ..and if A and E cancels it, do the Robertson’s have the right to take it to another cable outfit.
It will be interesting to see how this comes out.
Yes it will.
Nice work!
I’ll mention, though, that it is the advertisers that drive all decisions- they pay the bills, salaries and profits.
None of them want ‘problems’, and many of them want those high-profit margin homo viewers.
Houston Chronicle. Figures. In 1995 there was some front page editorializing on “gay” marriage and that Jesus was queer (blasphemy!).
The bottom line is the bottom line. The Robertsons, A&E and their stockholders all stand to make a lot of money from this publicity stunt. I would like to believe that Phil Robertson is acting on his principles and will not compromise. Wait and see.
I guarantee you their ESPN holdings are the foundation that allows them to ignore viewer outrage.
Sports fans are worse than Jewish democrat voters.
The rest of us can make it uncomfortable for the advertisers.
What happens if Newspaper and magazine subscriptions drop?
310 million people in the US. 1% = 3.1 million.
In less than 48 hours, the Facebook page calling for a boycott of A&E has 1.6 million likes.
was he fired or just suspended?
the irony is Walt Disney the man was a staunch Barry Goldwater loving conservative...
Heard some time back that prior to it landing on A&E, Willie had had a few spots on the sports/hunting channels and was pushing DD. Makes me think Robertsons own DD.
We’ll see pretty soon as this looks to be coming to a head.
The Bear Cowboys game was the most watched this season, with 16.2 million viewers.
I imagine there are a lot of DD watchers and now Phil Robertson supporters, who regularly watch MNF.
It looks like MNF averages 14 million a week. A boycott might drop that 2 million.
We want to thank all of you for your prayers and support. The family has spent much time in prayer since learning of A&E's decision. We want you to know that first and foremost we are a family rooted in our faith in God and our belief that the Bible is His word. While some of Phils unfiltered comments to the reporter were coarse, his beliefs are grounded in the teachings of the Bible. Phil is a Godly man who follows what the Bible says are the greatest commandments: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and Love your neighbor as yourself. Phil would never incite or encourage hate. We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right. We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm. We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty. Again, thank you for your continued support of our family.
I’m sure Walt is turning over in his grave now.
The Robertson family has already made their statement. As far as I can tell, Phil is not involved in a publicity stunt and it is small of you to suggest otherwise
