A few times a week, I'm near a TV and can watch Fox News if I choose to, or any other program. Since around the Republican Convention, in the summer of 2012, Fox News has gotten into the habit of running these emotion graphs at the bottom of the screen while a featured guest is speaking. It's annoying and probably inaccurate. It's unnecessary clutter and I wish they'd get out of that habit. I can recall the name of the Fox employee who started it, some used to say he kind of looks like Janet Napolitano. What real difference does it make if the indicator shows 'excitement' when a certain statement is made. That excitement could be a strong revulsion vs attraction. I could be misinterpreting the model, but it appears we have a bean counter carried away with his own 'beans'. I really lost interest after the 're-election', and after Romney's almost instant concession. Too much focus on the little things when we're being scammed on a gigantic scale, in my opinion.
AFAIK: they only do that on Special Report (6:00 PM EST).
Gimmicks.
Perot had his charts.
Obam has his hand banners.
I knew I should have gone into PR.
Liberals are the ones who adjust their facts to their FEEEELLLings (Nothing more than feelings). Liberals are also the ones who follow group think and talking points, so its important for them to know how excited others are and how excited THEY SHOULD BE.
I agree, it adds NOTHING to the broadcast. It is distracting and annoying.
It warms the cockles of my heart.
All of our televisions are equipped with an off button.
Ours’ stay in that position most of the time, though my hubby does like his sports.
I seldom watch tv with the exception of a movie, or a series in which we have interest.
News readers are boring. I get my news from FR!
Thank you for the info. I will be sure to pay attention to that now.
But who wouldn't?
I agree, get rid of it.
...what is fun to watch is the blue line (which is suppose to represent rats)take a nose dive when some far left wacko tells another lie...*smiles*

I Wish this website had a Thumbs Up button.
Brett Baier, are you listening?
Bret Baier only does this on Friday’s broadcast, no?
Awwwww so sorry.... do these little “flashes” disturb your enjoyment of Fox’s vacuous infotainment shows? No offense (ahem), but who actually watches Fox for actual news content anymore? Outside of Cavuto — amd he’s hanging on by a thread.
Turned tv off in 2008 like you I collect news .not watch news.
Stay safe !
It’s such a time waster—and I swear, sometimes I think it is addictive!
After raising 5 kids and getting them launched, I appreciate a quiet home.
I do sometimes watch Pawn Shop and Pickers—I find them interesting.
I’ve a collection of sites i surf morning and at night for pro and con with folks i trust to bring facts and hidden gems to light i get my favorite shows off the web vs cable or sat dish as stated. i like to read the bills in congress versus listen to a talking head try an tell me their version
stay safe .
So you don’t consider Greta or Mike Wallace real reporters?
