Nothing like a game of tug-of-war to alleviate those tensions at the border!

2 vs 2, but I’m sure if that agent pulled his gun it was soon 2 vs. 0...

Dragging him back into the USA? Neat sign dividing the border.

That looks like Mel Brooks. Probably a still shot from one of his movies.

You know, why didn’t no one back then had the foresight to build a huge fricking wall?

Nope I think it is the real deal. Notice the crease in his pants. Other than cops who else in that heat would have that crease?

Who took the picture? Why didn’t he help?

Guessing staged, maybe from a movie.

As a BP agent for 25 years I believe it is staged. The agent is dressed in a “dress” uniform. The agents don't ware that uniform while conducting Line Watch on the border.

If the other two Mexicans in the picture where throwing rocks it would be authentic.

Thanks for posting I will add it to my collection.

I just noticed the agents gun and holster is on backwards.

Not sure what to make of that but I have never seen anyone do it. It would give a bad guy easy access.

That must have been back when the US had more pull than it does today.

Thanks for the feedback ... Probably an early Border Patrol publicity photo ... but, I wonder why a Nat Geo photographer would take it? Would a Nat Geo photographer ever agree to take a staged photo? Maybe the photographer was contracted by the BP for publicity/PR promotion?

The guy on the left looks like a character actor from lots of westerns.

Not on backwards, that’s cross draw style.
