In 50-17 vote today, the Belgian Senate approved a bill that would allow euthanasia for children. The bill now goes to the House of Representatives for final approval before being sent to the King to be signed into law. Most political observers are predicting the passage of the bill.
Currently the law in Belgium allows euthanasia requests for those over 18 and of sound mind, although it is acknowledged that these restrictions are widely ignored. The bill allows euthanasia, with parental consent, for children experiencing intolerable physical pain and who are suffering from a terminal medical condition....

1) Life is terminal.
2) It can be a pain.

At this point it would be better for Belgium if the hordes of bearded savages would overrun the country and eliminate its materialistic, anti-nature culture.
There is no point in hoping to preserve a culture that recognizes the age of maturity for alcohol, driving and sex, but recognizes none for a death assisted by family and doctors.

Just speculating but the Liberal Democrats here in the US will likely welcome and possibly try to adopt and push this as just another form of Late Term abortion. It will become a benefit of the ACA since the ACA is obviously malleable to what ever the president and the HHS director want it to be.

They are building precedent. Euthanizing biological ailments are “mercy killings”. Later Euthanizing USSR’s Siberian psychiatric hospitals for political dissidents? Culling the herd in the name of mercy easily transitions to “the greater good” of social engineering.

“with parental consent”
What a relief! I thought for a minute they would ask the child if it was OK to kill them.
“Johnny, your booboo isn’t gonna get better. Mommy and daddy think you are suffering a lot. OK if mommy and daddy make you go byebye - and no come back?”
I’m crying inside.

The Belgium senate did it all wrong. First pass ACA legislation then just have the secretary make it an amendment to their regulatory rules.
That is how the government in our county does it.
