Ive read that a name like Laquisha receives many fewer resume responses than the same resume submitted with a traditional name. Have blacks caught onto this? Resume? Resume?! Heck, they don't need resumes as they get all their stuff free because of that dang slavery that they were forced to endure. (Do I really need a sarc tag on this one?)

The story says the fingertip was “severed”, that should mean the finger tip above the last knuckle or so is gone. If the writer speaka da Englush.

People saddle their kids with names like that and wonder why they end up in the police blotter.

How is the name any different than the names given to Puritan girls AND boys: Patience, Remember, Surenus, Remembrance, Oceanus, Mercy, Charity, Serenity, etc.?
Focus, people.
To: GeronL
Apparently they don't, because it also says "Doctors were able to reattach the fingertip, which was severed below the fingernail."

I find it easy to say Amazing, it has no apostrophes, dashes, commas, other punctuation that normally accompanies these names. However, think of the possibilities in a job search. Sentences like, “I’m Amazing” “This employee is Amazing” “Its a job for an Amazing person” and so on, this girl will be in a very high paying job very soon after dropping out of high school!

Because you have to assume that the play on words, and the meaning of it, was absolutely intentional.
That’s not something you do on accident. And if you do, you get the certificate changed after your friends shocked reactions and before things become too permanent.

An innocent little girl just had her finger severed and no one at the school called 911. And all everyone wants to talk about is her name...? I delegated the task of emotional concern over her already repaired finger to those who:
1) think that cyber hand wringing actually accomplishes anything. and
2) imply those who do not participate are heartless.
Thank you for stepping up! So sorry to see you are a humorless stoic. Or perhaps I have concluded incorrectly?

Something tells me some on this thread are focusing too much on the first name, instead of in the totality of the name.
