I thought communism was exactly the opposite of freedom. What is Cruz up to here. He knows better than that. Mandela was leader of the the terrorist faction of the ANC. He ordered the bombing of many government buildings, killing children, women ,and men. Is that just to be washed from our memory. His wife popularized the lovely act of necklacing political opposition. A tire, drenched in gasoline, set on fire while being worn around the neck of a bound man or woman. He let loose the communist blacks on the only shining city on the African continent which put more blacks to work, who prospered in the free enterprise of the country. Now, the blacks slit the throats of whites who settled that country. The last one I read about having her throat slit was a 16 year old blond girl, who apparently was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

So , thanks, Mr. Mandela for inflicting this hell on innocents.

And no one in the media, punditry, or politician dare say otherwise. Disgusting. I am not calling Cruz out for this……..he gets three swings at bat, but hell, Cruz, what are you thinking?

The problem is the media and the educational system have turned Mandela, like Martin Luther King Jr, into a Saint.

It would be political suicide to dare criticize him.

loose cannon? he’s probably the most disciplined communicator in politics in generations. he’s a champion debater. your standards may be somewhat unrealistic.

Actually, I royally pissed off a Liberal today by asserting that the big difference between Mandela and Tea Party Conservatives is that Mandela was pretty restrained and Tea Party Conservatives will follow in the foot steps of the Founding Fathers and are going to resort to armed violence a lot quicker than Mandela did in the face of almost identical authoritarian/totalitarian/tyrannical government policies.

Remember, one of the key rules of Alinsky is that you hold the opposition to their own rulebook. Mandela is commonly accepted as a great hero for liberty and justice. That's not going to change, and the Left has an ENORMOUS amount of political capital invested in that narrative. Better to coopt his memory to serve our purposes and allow us to outflank the other side than to try to challenge them head-on.

[Cruz] he’s probably the most disciplined communicator in politics in generations. he’s a champion debater.

Even the most vile of America's enemies have grudging admiration, bordering on awe and fear, for Texas Senator Ted Cruz. Chris Hayes, a communist mouthpiece on MSLSD, had this to say on August 21, 2013 about our outstanding Christian, Conservative Senator:

In October 2007, I sat in the media gallery of the United States Supreme Court and watched the Solicitor General of Texas [Ted Cruz] argue on behalf of the state that he should have the ability to put to death a Mexican national who had been convicted of raping and murdering two teenage girls in Houston. He won that argument and he was executed by Texas on August 5th, 2008, despite the objections of the United Nations and the International Court of Justice.

At the time, I had no idea who this man arguing on behalf of Texas was. but all I could think was holy c**p, this guy is good. It was one of his nine times arguing before the Supreme Court and he was witty, incredibly fast on his feet and clearly had a brilliant legal mind. It is to this day one of the most impressive displays I have ever seen before the Court and I have had the good fortune to spend a lot of time there.

As others have pointed out, Senator Cruz was likely in an untenable position with regard to Mandela. His comments were more restrained than the slobbering lovefest he's getting from RINOs and leftists (but I repeat myself).

And the leftist media is trying to canonize the pretender in the Whitehouse.
The forces of lies and dishonesty in our world are very, very strong. It is almost as if the forces behind the lies are supernatural. Not one to spend much time thinking about Satan, but we who are awake to the boldness and never ending quantity of out right, in your face lies, it really does make one think of the origin of the lying.
If you are listening Satan, NSA, Obama.... You are doomed to loose. That is why you are who you are.

Trayon Martin - Nelson Mandela

They are both a figment of liberal thought.

Probably Senator Cruz had little choice but to utter these platitudes.

Get real.

Apartheid could not stand.

Despite his many flaws, Mandela led the charge to bring it down and he succeeded. Get over it.

I emailed his office and told him that he should have kept quiet on this one.... going to do some damage and he will need to explain to his supporters.

Agree he should have kept quite, but it does show the power of persuasion in DC, no one is immune to it

Which is exactly why I don't trust any one there....nor would I put my trust in them.

Just watched a segment on PMSNBC where all involved were extolling Mandela’s encouragement of armed resistance to Apartheid. Armed resistance is acceptable if it supports their leftist views.

Ted Cruz fights, which is more than I can say for over 90% of the elected Republicans in Washington. As for his intellect, I don’t know him personally, but I am friends with someone who does. My friend confirms that Cruz does indeed have a very sharp, agile, and trained mind. I can only hope that he avoids getting “Potomac Fever” and turning liberal as so many others have.
