STAFFORD, VA, November 8, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Police in a northern Virginia town are looking for a prisoner who escaped after she was released in order to obtain an abortion.

When police arrested 28-year-old Kristy Lechelle Cokley and another woman for stealing more than $550 of clothes from a T.J. Maxx store, she was already a felon. Cokley was out on bond after being arrested in another city for possessing a firearm as a felon and allegedly manufacturing illegal drugs. Kristy Cokley, 28 Kristy Cokley, 28

In September, Cokley petitioned for bond in Stafford County Circuit Court on two grounds: Her maternal instincts demanded she return to take care of her three children, and she wanted to have an abortion.

Judge J. Howe Brown initially denied the request but, over the objections of prosecutor George Elsasser, said he would grant the request if Cokley provided specifics about the abortion.

Cokley was released on bond on September 26 and expected back in court on October 3. But she didn't show.

A press release from the Stafford County Sheriff's Office states that officers are searching for Cokley after the court allowed her to leave prison to have “a medical procedure.”

I'm willing to bet she never had the abortion.

She may not have even been pregnant, and gambled that she would not be thoroughly examined by the prison doctor.

With Obamacare coverage male inmates can claim that release.

Nope. The world is upside down.

I hope she didn’t get the abortion, though.
