Please excuse any mistakes but I'm new. I'm a member of a bicycling forum and they hate me for being a Conservative and a Tea Party supporter. The forum has a political section.
Last night there was a thread comparing the Tea Party to the KKK. I normally keep my mouth shut but the Tea Party hatred there was more than the norm. I reminded them that the Democrats were behind the founding of the KKK and provided links. One link was even from the Black Republican website. They called the KKK the terrorist arm of the Democrat party. Of course some of them started attacking me and stating that the Democrats and Republicans then have switched and the Republicans of now were actually the Democrats from then and on and on and on.
I'm a supporter of our local Tea Party and have never seen anything racist in the group or others that I have followed. They even have a Black member or two.
What is wrong with these people? Was I wrong or are they just severely warped? I'm going to leave that group because it is more infested with Liberals than I realized and it's only a matter of time before they make me mad enough to get banned anyway.
If I posted this incorrectly or in the wrong place, please tell me so that I know better next time.
Unfortunately, we have to start speaking out. Their propaganda machine is in full force. I am not smart enough to know what to do about this. We have a president who is mocked all over the world and he is terrorizing us.
Thanks for that good info. I doubt I will be able to use it much longer in that forum but it will be good for any other time I tangle with liberals.
I suspect that face-to-face they would not be nearly so brave. :-)

It is the way they are. History is what happened before yesterday and they do not remember it.
Maybe it was then, as it is now...maybe the Klan were Democrats because their real issue with blacks was that blacks voted mostly Republican. Notice how Republican-voting blacks are smeared, rejected and ridiculed by Democrats even now. After they bullied them into voting Democrat, they could then promote the idea that the Klan was a Republican thing. They just want power, whatever it takes. I watched a biography of Jimmy Carter who ran early on as a segregationist because that is what it took to get elected at the time. You are what you do, not what you say you are. To this day it is Democrats who want to first and foremost focus on the color of someone’s skin...affirmative action, La Raza and so on.
Simply understand, these people are ignorant, it’s simply a matter of fac.
You know who you are, you know what your about, and they’re ignorant of the truth...willfully ignorant.

Why would anyone compare the TEA Party with a group of Democrats?
Welcome and thanks for posting. What you are seeing is the result of successfully smearing of the tea party. What the Democrats excel at is pick an opponent and through the power of repetition and the sheer number of celebrities and media amplifying channels, smear that opponent and leave their reputation tattered NO MATTER WHAT THE TRUTH IS.
While I didn’t like Mitt Romney as the standard bearer for the Republican Party during the last Presidential election, I knew that that at least his character was beyond reproach, and that would make it tough for the Democrats to smear him. Well guess what - they did and succeeded wildly at it. Suddenly someone who has no scandal tied to his name, who pays huge amounts of money (both nominally and as a percentage of his income) to charity, who demonstrated an ability to work with people across the political spectrum, and who succeeded wildly building businesses in the private sector, and as a service to his country (he saved the Olympics), was successfully smeared as someone who ships jobs abroad (happened AFTER his tenure at Bain), who doesn’t care about the poor, etc.
Their success is chilling. So don’t be too surprised by the hatred, and pray it does not get directed at you personally. Before the Nazis sent the Jews to the ovens, they had to first dehumanize them. Now that we know how good Democrats are at doing just that, it is terrifying to think about what they plan to do with that power. So we have to learn from the Jews and stick together and resist now before it’s too late.
What’s happened?
It’s Germany, 1932, and we’re like the Jews.
The demonization will only get worse.
By the way TeaParty is opposition to taxation - mandates without representation. Liberals are filled over the top with envy and every move they make is to spread a deep layer of misery across this nation. Subjugation of the masses is nearly complete.
Thanks for the welcome. I didn’t feel that I was concern trolling. I do realize that all new members of a forum are suspect until they have been there for a while so I was prepared to not be truly welcome until I become better known with more posts. I’m a long time member of another Conservative forum but it is smaller than this one. After browsing this one I figured there might be more information here due to it’s size.
I was taken by surprise by some of their ‘facts’ in the bike forum that I was pretty sure were incorrect. I don’t want to do the same thing if I’m not sure what I am talking about even if they do deny it. That gives them more ammo and they already think Conservatives are idiots.
NEVER! LOL I ride back country roads and only joined because I bought a new bike and needed info. I’m a normal person, not some weenie in spandex. LOL
They fear us.
Challenge them to name one racist KKK Democrat who became a Republican after the passage of the Voting Rights Act in 1965. Then ask them why, if what they are saying is true, the racist KKK member Robert Byrd never became a Republican.

One more thing then am gone. Free Republic does not employ or utilize bots to the best of my knowledge. When dealing with democRATs and their sites, if the truth were known, most of the posters are bots.
