I am not completely convinced it will be a spineless cave. The house is fairly safe due to the alignment of districts. I believe the senate is not as secure which is part of the senate rinos motivation to fight with the house. But then again, this could be wishful thinking.

YOU And the Freeper “Eternal Vigilance” will save us all from the horrible Two Party system we have now?

And the two of you will recruit maybe 3 or 4 like minded people in all 535 Congressional Districts, all across the country. And this NEW PARTY will instantly have a majority in Congress, after the next election?

Get real!

The ONLY solution is to fight in the Primary, for the most Conservative candidate, and then to make sure as few Liberal Democrats as possible get elected in the General.

You have not one single person, of any stature at all, that can win any race, anywhere, under any other label than the Republican label.

Deal with that fact or you will never get anything positive accomplished.

A thought that crossed my mind the other day.

I was thinking about the mischief Democrats could play in the Senate as aides for all members are coming out of a unified Senate aide pool (Something I read years ago in an article here at FR). Just thinking about the disinformation Leftist inclined aides could impart to the unsuspecting opposition should they be assigned to Conservative, or simply Republican offices.

Wondering if such is going on.

It would answer some questions about the manner some Senators seem to flow in and out of reality.

Just a thought.

And I believe this is why the democrats (like Schumer) are trying to talk the RINO's into caving. They know a big portion of the base will leave if the moderates cave.

They're evil, not stupid.

A third party is a Democrud wet dream.. Think it through before you kill any chance to win in the near future.. By the time a third party could get really organized the socialist will have completely taken over..

Our situation now goes beyond political parties.

This country is inhabited by those who are dependent upon the government for one thing or another. If not the majority, then close enough to it to make it impossible for the pendulum to swing back to the right.

The ballot box will no longer be sufficient to save this country, third party or not, IMO.

Most people in this country are too self absorbed to care. Go along to get along is the credo of the day.

Those who want to steer this country back towards increasing the level of prosperity for all are not prepared to do what it will take to accomplish the task, and refuse to accept that the ballot box is no longer a viable mechanism to straighten out the mess we’re in.

I want to be wrong, but I doubt it.

I would hope the TEA Party steps in, ID's the RINOs and GOPe for all to see, gin up some true conservative candidates and help them run against the RINOs to primary them right out.

Then on to the general election and a new conservative GOP will emerge, culminating in a clean sweep of the House, Senate, and the White House to restore America to it's rightful place as the worlds sole superpower.

When the Republicans cave, and they will, Obama will up the ante to include Amnesty. Mark my words.

And when they give him that, he will demand a total gun ban. And so on. And so on.

He does not care if America crashes completely; in fact, he's hopeful every city burns.

Then he gets to invoke the Emergency Powers Act and become King for Life.

It’s time for We the People to rise above party, to principle.

An important portion of President George Washington’s Farewell Address:

“I have already intimated to you the danger of parties in the State, with particular reference to the founding of them on geographical discriminations. Let me now take a more comprehensive view, and warn you in the most solemn manner against the baneful effects of the spirit of party generally.

This spirit, unfortunately, is inseparable from our nature, having its root in the strongest passions of the human mind. It exists under different shapes in all governments, more or less stifled, controlled, or repressed; but, in those of the popular form, it is seen in its greatest rankness, and is truly their worst enemy.

The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries which result gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of public liberty.

Without looking forward to an extremity of this kind (which nevertheless ought not to be entirely out of sight), the common and continual mischiefs of the spirit of party are sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to discourage and restrain it.

It serves always to distract the public councils and enfeeble the public administration. It agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection. It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption, which finds a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party passions. Thus the policy and the will of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another.

There is an opinion that parties in free countries are useful checks upon the administration of the government and serve to keep alive the spirit of liberty. This within certain limits is probably true; and in governments of a monarchical cast, patriotism may look with indulgence, if not with favor, upon the spirit of party. But in those of the popular character, in governments purely elective, it is a spirit not to be encouraged. From their natural tendency, it is certain there will always be enough of that spirit for every salutary purpose. And there being constant danger of excess, the effort ought to be by force of public opinion, to mitigate and assuage it. A fire not to be quenched, it demands a uniform vigilance to prevent its bursting into a flame, lest, instead of warming, it should consume.”

They couldn’t wait to cave, Obama said no. He wants more.

No Balls Boner has no backbone. Eventually he will cave. Ryan has been waving a white flag for the last week. Graham and McCain, if they could assasinate a bunch of their own party senators and get away with it, they would.

It’s ridiculous. This is what you get when too many of “your own” have no core beliefs they won’t sell out, and instead regard this all as “a game” and who can score the most political points on something. Instead of fighting bad ideas they just want to be in charge of implementing the bad idea.

It is sick. the country needs a massive reset. fedgov needs to be shoved back into the 10x10 swampy square on the potomac.
