Yes, they're evil. Next question? :-)
Some Norwegian forest cats are low maintenance cats.
However, as with any cat it is a dice roll.
I’ve been happy with mud breeds.
Here is a pretty good website on Korats.

I’ve heard great things about Abyssinians. Rush’s cat Pumpkin is one. They are one of the few breeds that like water. Short fur makes for easy grooming. Loads of personality, brains and affection.
I do not go to shelters for cats. They just show up and move in. I concur with the people who suggest getting two. Some cats would prefer to be the only cat in a household, but most like to have a companion.
On the subject of guys owning cats, I suggest watching this instructional video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHXBL6bzAR4
Odds of finding a rare breed or even a purebred (other than tabby, calico, etc) in a shelter are next to nil. Mutts are good though; actually stronger genes and healthier - same goes for dogs on the health issue. If you don’t want specific traits; go with a mutt and yes look into the shelters. I saw some kittens in a pet store recently and they wanted $250 for them! I don’t think Mutant Bob, The Bob Tail From Hell (cool name, huh?) cost much more than that and he only lived about 5 yrs.
I tend to do the same thing
Thank you, Thank you....
Cats are systematic as they attempt to process the world around them.
Ever watch an "indoor cat" try to navigate the outdoors for the first few times ?
They need to know everything about there surroundings in order to advance.
Dogs, on the other hand, are more like men. They run headfirst into the unknown and rely on whatever it takes to establish control.
Cats, need to control their surroundings, dogs, simply deal with it.
“Cats!? Are you sure? I have two of them. Not by my doing...
Yes, I may eat both of them one day.
5.56mm “
Remember to play “There’s A Cat in the Kettle” when you do eat them.
Rescue Rescue Rescue....You will never regret it. Don’t encourage breeding by buying a cat..how outrageous when there are so many alive today who will be euthanized tomorrow - my two guys are amazing - makes me shutter to think we might not have found each other.
Taught them to only use the litter boxes and to not scratch on the furniture.
We lost the first sister last year. The vet misdiagnosed her ailment. The second sister developed a liver problem. This was properly diagnosed and we saved her. We think the first sister had the same ailment. That was a heart-breaker. Great cat with a great personality. And, a great friend.
There’s one in every crowd.
Dogs are bred so that one lab is usually like another, one collie is usually like another, etc. Cats are wildly different.

I have liked all my cats and dogs but after having children, pets are a bit like ephemera, enjoyed in the moment but of limited range.
Get two shelter cats. Even kittens know they have been rescued. Some of the best cats we ever had found us and others fell out of the back of trucks, were rescued from flower beds in the rain at restaurants, picked up on the road after being hit and nursed back to health. All cats are independent and can have a streak of indeference in them.
I love Siamese cats.
Cats are the only pets that I am aware of that KNOW how to get revenge when you piss them off.
So don’t treat it like a dog ;)
Cats and Dogs are pets,we love them, they love us.
Everything you said...yes! I went through it and totally approve of what they do...lots of people pose as cat (or dog) lovers only to sell them to labs and to only “God knows Who or to What”...so I believe in what shelters do.
“Conures aren’t furry, and I’ve yet to hear one purr.”
Worse yet, they are tough. Pressure cook those things!
