Hopefully all of the films portraying the truth about Obama will be stored somewhere safe before they get destroyed along with other things like the U.S. Constitution.
Good one.
There was one guy on MBS Radio (abd briefly TV) who would tell it like it was, or as he saw it anyways.
I think it was Mutual Broadcasting...argh... I am probably wrong though... I’ll have to use Google.
I was thinking of DuMont TV
I read somewhere they had actually had a talk show that was like conservative talk radio is now.
I forget now what year it was that my dad was in Germany before the war. Probably around 1935? He was in a youth hostel and met up with a German kid. He asked him about this “Hitler guy” and the German held up his finger to his lips and said “not here”. So there must have been dribs and drabs of information getting out.
In the video at the link, Vanderbilt is asked for his assessment of Hitler. He replies:
Unquestionably he is a man of real ability, of force. But the way I sized him up after interviewing him is that he is a strange combination of Huey Long, Billy Sunday, and Al Capone.I had never heard a man so able to sway people. He said Germany refused to forget her two million war dead. In the hour and a half that Hitler talked to that packed audience that night, he was as effective as a barker in a sideshow travelling with a circus. The German people had suffered so long that they were ready to accept the promises of anyone who held out some hope for the future.
I give up, but I did find a treasure trove of really old TV shows

I hope things never get so bad that, after a secession of a number Obama like dictators, America falls for a Hitler like person to restore sovereignty and order.
BFL
America has already fallen for a Hitler-like person.
Foutunately he does not have Hitler like powers. Would you be willing to give Hitler like powers to someone if he was pro American in order to clean out the riff raff?
Oh, don’t underestimate him. You’ll just get surprised.
“39 Steps”, 1935, Hitchcock film. German spy ring in England
The fact is in the 1930s, the Nazis had considerable sway in Hollywood (a familiar theme in Hollywood that goes on today), they heavily influenced Hollywoods portrayal of the Nazis up until WWII...and their tone towards Hitler only changed when he invaded their beloved Soviet Union.
............
you’re conflating the nazis with the communists. The nazis and the communists were bitter enemies. They fought street battles in germany during the 20’s. Hollywood was 100% communist. No nazis. They only turned rabidly against the nazis when hitler betrayed his non aggression pact with stalin and invaded Russia in 1941-42.
The German consul in Los Angeles, Georg Gyssling, was the point man for most of this, letting studios know when something might not be well received in Germany. Some studios would even let him screen films and suggest cuts.
Of course, once WWII began in Europe, the studios' attitude changed completely.
