Some demand more details about the record-setting open-water marathon swim.
Diana Nyad has captured the public's imagination with her epic swim from Cuba to Florida

It was a communist propaganda ploy.
100%
Reminds me of the hotdog eating competition enthusiasts.
Asking for proof is homophobic.
Racist, too!
And Sexist.
lol. right. She is a gay communist
How did this help communists?
No flippers?
But what about cancles??
I question her speed also. There was one report that at one point she was swimming 5 mph. Come on..
Any video shots of her swim did not show any suit, mask or a stroke that could be 2 mph let alone 5 mph.
Had she landed further up the Keys or started further West of Havana I could see the Gulfstream aiding her. But she swan basically 90 deg across it.
Come to think of it she would have had to swim NW or WNW to compensate for approx 2-2.5 kt. Gulfstream current.
OTOH I commend her tenacity.
I’d say her swim was a little culturally insensitive. There are so many who attempted that trek, not for fame but for freedom - and a good portion lost their lives.
Your question helps communists.
Rosie Ruiz Revisited???
My uncle swam from Cuba in the mid sixties. He was pick up by a boat about 8 miles from the keys. I’m sure he was not the only one and that more than a few have died trying but, an amazing accomplishment for anyone.
Her fellow swimmers asking for the data. They think she may have rested on the boat for a few hours. They want to see the tide charts to explain how she could swim 3-4 miles an hour when 2 is her max. This will be interesting.
It was faked, it was done for propaganda purposes and it got praised by Hillary.
You would think that if this was for real that they would have had an independent observer on the boat or 53 hours of video of the whole swim and GPS data.
She tried this 5 times beginning at 28. Are you telling me that at 62? she is a better swimmer than she was at 28???35???40???45???
Show the swimming community the data. They will know if it was real or not.
