Ok, so the ship was sinking his wife’s safety rope was caught on the SINKING ship’s steering gear so he saves the dog first, the dog who was free of the ship and capable of swimming on his own. I guess he was confident that the ship wouldn’t sink before he got back dragging his wife to the bottom. Great guy. Sounds like a divorce is in his future.

Yes, they are. Still, I’d save the dog over hubby. He’s more capable of swimming to shore and if not, he’d end up pulling us all down with him.

If he loses his dog, he is out a couple hundred dollars. If he loses her, he gains insurance money. If the dog survives, but runs away, he is out a companion. If the wife survives but leaves him, he is out half of all he owns.
