Right. I suspect it’s worse there than here!
Usually because they had been bitten or had a close friend or family member that was.
Thank you for this lovely story
Thanks Nickcarraway and to all who enjoyed this story.
I posted it and then pretty much went right to bed last night.
I read that article and my first thought was why would a dog be tied up in the kitchen.......
Possibly to keep it from harm, such as the guy didn’t have a fenced yard and didn’t want it slipping out the door into the streets or some such thing.
But harm kicked the door down and shot it anyway so it didn’t do much good.
“Why it was tied up” is hardly the big issue, though.
Whew...I thought I would be the only one!
If you spell Dei backwards you get IED.
Dogs get into the tequila a lot up there or do folks smell like food
YES
What a good, precious dog.
The dog Pui a Thai Dog breed, has received a special certificate from the Red Cross and earned his family money to pay for food for him and other dogs the family owns.
Good dog!
That is why Islam hates them!
I’m trying to remember the name of a saint who was protected by a big dog. Whenever this saint was about to be attacked by someone, this ferocious dog would just appear out of nowhere and save him.
Was it John Boscoe? I can’t remember.
It’s difficult for me to trust a person if my dog(s) don’t trust them.
AS A GENERAL RULE, DOGS SENSE THAT I am on their side, one of them, so to speak. But I give them the choice of whether and how to respond to my offered hand before presuming to touch them.
I know some folks will not like this, but I am a bit wary of any dog that has the appearance of a pit bull, or American Staffordshire (whatever the polite, upscale name is), more cautious about offering my hand.
The open, friendly interest of a small child wanting to pet the doggie can result in deep tragedy, and not only with pit bulldogs.
Dogs are intelligent enough to stay away from that crap.
Or possibly to prevent something like this happening.

Yeah, but it washes off.
Just can’t keep yourself from humping my leg, can you?
Get over me.
[but I’m sure you rejoiced over those dogs’ deaths just like the veteran’s poor dog]
Facts seem to irritate you for some reason. Why is that?
