For the first time, researchers have reprogrammed the immune systems of MS patients to stop cells attacking the protective layer around nerves in the spinal cord.

Mine, too. I miss mine every day also. She battled MS for 31 years.
Mine has MS, primary progressive. Took her to PT earlier today and she had her walker, but fell in the hall before I could catch her.
I thank God for every day we have together.
You and your wife have my complete understanding and sympathy. My wife fell, experienced periods of blindness and other symptoms.
Even though the last few years my wife was totally bedridden and was unable to move her extremities, I'd give anything to have her back. I would get angry with her for not being angry. From cane, to walker, to wheelchair to fancy air bed. She was the most courageous and stoic person I've ever known. I thought after all the years that I had prepared myself for her passing, but I was wrong. It has been nearly six months, and in my logical mind I know the hurt won't be so bad in the years to come, but it certainly hasn't lessened so far.
If there were but one word of advice I could give to all married couples, it would be "CHERISH".
I’ve read Alpha Lipoic Acid does facilitate the regeneration of myelin. Supposedly R Lipoic Acid is better.
Thanks for the advice. I do cherish my wife. She’s had MS for about 25 years and is now secondary-progressive. Each day we pray that today will be the day that the secret is unlocked, the answer is found, the cure is discovered. It kills me to see the energetic, active woman slowly become a prisoner of MS.
She still goes 110%, it just doesn’t last from early morning to late at night like it used to. Now she’s lucky if it’s late morning to early afternoon. With all she has to endure, she is a true inspiration to me and to many who know her.
My sister and some friends of mine children are afflicted with MS and all are coping fairly well with the ABC drugs available, though the drugs themselves make them physically ill at times.

You are right. It will get better. Six months is still very early. And please don't feel like a cad when the pain isn't as bad, as if you care less about her. Some people make that mistake.
I lost a child eight years ago so I'm somewhat of an authority of blinding unendurable pain. Time helps.
There was a prior study where mice with MS were cured, and health restored, by injections of amyloed beta (sp).
May the Lord give you many more years together.
The ABC drugs were not working for me. It can be hard to find what helps.
I'm sorry for your loss. We were lucky to have so many years together, but watching the love of your life slowly physically and mentally deteriorate and suffer tries one's faith.
