Wasn't this way when I was in high school....but, then again, neither had dirt been invented yet....

The girl is a ditz. It is perfectly possible to cover up cleavage if one is well endowed.

Oh good grief. The busy bodies should have let her be instead of being bust police.

There was a girl dressed like a skank at my sons prom. She had to walk with her legs locked together to prevent her butt and crotch from falling out of the dress, I am so liberal with clothes its not funny, but this girl’s mom spent $500 so her daughter could look like a cheap hoe.

hmmm sounds like a really important national story. Is it just me or does it seem like Gretchen is being made to cover fluff pieces lately. She’s a very good interviewer and Dusey, though I love him, is not but he’s been doing all the heavy lifting.

Too Much Cleavage for Prom, or Discrimination?

Not enough dress.

Where's Dad?

I'll be damned if I'd let my daughter wear something like that (if I had one)

The code allows for strapless dresses, but cleavage and midriffs must be covered. Minder argues that she was unfairly targeted because of her size and that she's limited as to what she can do to 'cover up.'

Not reported in this story is that the girl had a shawl with her and the school told her to wear the shawl.

She refused to comply and instead, left the prom and went home.

As near as I can tell, there's no rule that says that a prom dress must be low-cut and/or strapless. The choice of attire was hers.

I am growing very tired of these stories this time of year. Some poof is upset he couldn’t bring a male date, some pervert is upset he can’t wear a dress, some hussy is upset she can’ have her boobs hanging all over the place . . . .

May get pulled last the last thread, but here goes:
  1. The rules for dress were published beforehand,
  2. The dress she picked made no attempt to minimize cleavage, it actually accentuated it.
  3. She was allowed in, just required to cover with a shawl.

So, her evening was "ruined" because she was not allowed to show off her cleavage all night.

Given what I saw in that video I suspect that the school was correct. But she played the “race” card....or,more accurately, the “sizephobia” card.

A large bust is harder to dress then a small bust. That is a given.

Having said that, having a bodice that only comes half way up your torso is going to leave a lot hanging out no matter how you are built.

I’m always shocked at what parents will allow their daughters to wear in public. BTW, the girl could stand to lose a few pounds. If she weighs this much as a teen ager, what will she weigh when she’s middle aged? It’s not healthy.

For crying out loud, that was a modest dress compared to many. Let the girl have her evening. She felt pretty and it was really not that bad. Instead someone made a national case out of it.

Oh, for heaven's sake. Women have been making their boobs apparant since Adam and Eve. I can't imagine a prom without some really bad fashion choices; it's part of the fun.

Back in the day, spaghetti strap dresses were the rage. So was dancing the twist. The combination made for some real interesting wardrobe malfunctions.

They sell little bolero type cardis that cover the shoulders and cleavage area that are quite stylish. And a shawl is always good for covering and possible chills from the weather or air conditioning.

This girl’s mother should have insisted that she bring one with her - just in case.

She could have solved her “problem” by buying the dress in the correct size! The dress she has on is one size too small. Deliberately so, I suspect. The purple is also not at all flattering to that artificial hair color.
Can we say scream “Notice me”?
Well, tootsie, they noticed you.
