We fired warning shots at them, they shot down one of our U2s. It’s the only time in the Cold War we actually exchanged fire, thus the closest we ever came to nuclear war. You can quibble about how close we actually were, but that doesn’t change the fact that it was the closest we came.

Eggs fresh from the coop are quite tasty. When I had too many I’d drop a few on the ground for my dog. She loved eggs.

Being a student of Bible prophecy, I may have had some kind of edge over the low info ‘American,’ but there is really no excuse for fear, ever.

It’s all under his power, and he has told us what we need to know about how things will unfold. He has promised that we will not be subject to the rath, and I believe him.

Close is a personal judgment, so I suppose we were close and we were not close.

There’s one massive excuse for fear: it’s our news media’s number one product. Which is what I said at the beginning, for FIFTY solid years the media has found at least one and often two or three different “doomsday” scenarios to push on the public. Something terrible is always just about to happen, just turn on the news to find out. Now I’ve never really bought into it, but I’ve always been a news analyzer more than a news consumer, and the first think I learned on digging into these stories in the 70s was how obsessed the media was with selling it, which immediately caused me doubt, then I found out how many of their “predictions” had been false. Which is why I’ve never been a believer in these things, but there’s still plenty of people that are, though I sense a growing “doom fatigue” because so many people have grown up with this drumbeat and seen the predictions fail they aren’t listening anymore.

We DID go to DefCon 3 during the CMC, that is putting the Air Force at notice to put themselves at able to launch in 15 minutes. Documents released in 2002 show Kennedy thought the chance of going to war was 50/50. That’s pretty darn close.

The eggs I eat daily are about an hour or so old. It can't hardly get any fresher and they are quite tasty.

You may want to check this out. This is produced by Commsprepper on YouTube.

Secure Voice Communications - Part I

The gist of the video is creating a secure communications network using old routers and smartphones on the cheap. You can create neighborhood converage by using multiple routers with 12VDC backup. Commsprepper is a great YouTube channel to subscribe to. The comments are interesting and worth a read.

The wireless network requires no license and the software is free on the internet. This is something you may want to run with.

Is it prepping? Or is it just living a conservative and prudent life?

You know what I think - it’s a life style. It’s the way my grandparents lived. I even learned to milk a cow by hand when I was a kid, so if I have to, I’ll just get a goat. The goat can provide milk, and replace the lawnmower maybe.LOL

Congratulations if you read them all as they have to be book length by now. I keep writing because people say they are helped by the information and they keep coming back to read along with new ones starting to read.

Instead of cat litter, consider sodium bentonite. It’s about $4 for a 50lb bag. It’s the same material without the perfume.
