It would be nice to have statutory or other references cited so that those of interested in civil rights issues such as this have some starting point to verify, analyze independently, and if appropriate, agree.
The author obviously was referring to something, but never mentions that to which he was referring.
Credibility is in the details.
When growing up, one of my father phrases he used in reference to events in Russia or China was, “That will never happen in the USA” Boy, do I wish that statement was still true.
The author wrote an article not a couple of volumes explaining where the problems lie. It is up to the citizens of each state to prod their own legislators into protecting states rights. Each fight is a different fight because each state has different tools in their state constitutions to protect the citizens rights.
The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable. ~ H. L. Mencken
Doesn't make sense. Hawaii, sure, but Michigan? What about all the other states like FL, N/S Car, Texas, MN, WI, etc???
I suggest that you read the entire article and learn about the 100 mile DHS border authority claim.
See comment #5
If you are in ten states in the United States
By definition, if this is true, it is also unconstitutional.
People need to fight real battles and ignore this kind of baloney.
That map does a good job of illustrating a point. The gross majority of americans live in large cities. Almost all of our large cities on on coastlines. This map shows that this would affect over 85% of all americans. Only those in flyover country would be unaffected.
Another reason to require extraordinary evidence to prove an extraordinary claim.
Oh, and a friend gave me a videotape by Larkin Rose 15 years ago that makes a much stronger case than this article does. The case it makes is that none of us should be paying federal income taxes on our US wages.
Good luck with that one too.
shhhh damn it !
you’’ll get ‘em to start looking again and realize they are RAT states.
bkmk
It won’t take long before this is expanded to “within 100 miles of the 100 mile border zone.”
Not if one person in every 100 made a call to their state legislator it wouldn’t.
I’m reading a collection of Mencken’s essays. He had a very sharp tongue.
I live at the very southern edge of vermont. By the looks of that map, I qualify for the 100 mile rule, while my daughters in the next town to the west do not (the tiny little speck of white.)”Sigh”
Ugh
Bookmarking the list.
Unfortunately this outrage started when George W. Bush was still in the White House.
And the the hits just keep coming....GW...WTF?
When I see the comment, “It was Bush’s fault”, these are the kinds of things that I think about. He did double the size of the federal government with the Patriot Act. The half breed patriot that’s in the White House today thanks him for it too!
