How many of these Democrats did the NRA give money to and get re-elected?

Never mind the fact that the NRA goes into a hiding hole in the ground somewhere everytime there is a dust up, leaving 2nd Amendment Supporters and Law Abiding Gun Owners to fend for themselves, which brings the usual question around these times. Where is the NRA?

A more important question needs to be asked. As we see so-called "pro gun" Democrats warming up to tighter gun controls, according to reports, we may just see where are membership dues went to those who will not help. How many of these Democrats that will come out for gun control laws did the NRA give money to and help get re-elected? Most of us have had concerns with the way the NRA seems to eager to "negotiate" at times. Usually because it comes too close to giving up ground that should never be given up.

Many have the renewal forms coming in the mail. I'm sure many will be watching to see if they want to give any more to those who might actually work against the rights of gun owners/law abiding citizens.

We exist to protect the second amendment,

And you do this by endorsing politicians from the "Ban All Guns" party.

Brilliant.

We exist to protect the second amendment.

I’m with ya.

If you choose to do so, brace yourself and visit Democratic Underground. Liberals being against the 2nd Ammendment is not a slam-dunk. Some of the pro-gun Dems are just as vehement and vociferous as anyone in support of this inalienable right.

Joe Manchin’s ad accepting the NRA’s endorsement. Gee that didn’t turn around to bite them.

Do YOU, PERSONALLY, endorse demonicRat Bastard Joe Manchin?

Now that I know who he is, let me ask YOU this:

What is it in Manchin's past stance on firearms that would cause the NRA to NOT endorse him in his last election?

We are the National Rifle Association, not the National Republican Association. In the real world, it is necessary to work with Democrats especially when the Republicans keep shooting themselves in the foot. It is, furthermore, extremely useful to prevent this issue from becoming strictly a Republican versus Democrat issue. If this were strictly a Republican versus Democrat issue, we could anticipate being about as effectual as the pro life movement. It's useful to have influence with both parties and this may be the only thing that actually preserves our RKBA after all of this.

He's a member of the democRat Party ... therefore, he has signed up for this (from the 2012 Democratic National Platform):

Firearms. We recognize that the individual right to bear arms is an important part of the American tradition, and we will preserve Americans’ Second Amendment right to own and use firearms. We believe that the right to own firearms is subject to reasonable regulation. We understand the terrible consequences of gun violence; it serves as a reminder that life is fragile, and our time here is limited and precious. We believe in an honest, open national conversation about firearms. We can focus on effective enforcement of existing laws, especially strengthening our background check system, and we can work together to enact commonsense improvements – like reinstating the assault weapons ban and closing the gun show loophole – so that guns do not fall into the hands of those irresponsible, law-breaking few.

No politician, regardless of what he may have done, who does not explicitly repudiate that position, deserves an A+ rating or an endorsement.

Manchin tried to finesse the issue, pretending that signing some pro gun legislation that the Legislature shoved down his throat made him some sort of pro-gun conservative.

We are the National Rifle Association,

You're apparently the National Assault Weapons Ban Association ... see quote from the 2012 Democratic National Platform, which your NRA A+ Rated, Endorsed Hero Joe Manchin supported by running as a democRat.

Quit trying to defend the indefensible. You, and the NRA in general, would be far better off to admit that you screwed up. It would have the benefit of being honest.

Yeah, they’re working this tragedy for all it’s worth over there. I’m hoping that they continue to alienate and ostracize their members who actually support the RKBA so they’ll join us and turn against them.

I was thinking the same thing. Notice how many of their members have CCW permits.

look at our results. We have been hugely successful in advancing the second amendment issue for firearms owners of all stripes. It is UNDENIABLE. I can’t think of a more successful lobbying group in fact-the AARP maybe. No, after watching the pitiful political game Republicans played in the 2012 elections, I’ll never question the NRA’s strategy.

Well at least you do admit that Manchin DID sign the pro gun legislation................

Do I need to re-ask my question or are you still trying to find something more definitive as to any actions by him in his past that he was not pro gun?

Yep.

You endorsed Joe Manchin, who wants to ban "assault weapons".

He got elected.

Congratulations! You own it!

We'll see how that works out for you when push comes to shove ...

I’ll never question the NRA’s strategy.

That's nice.

So ... does your A+ rating, and your endorsement, extend to the 2012 Democratic National Platform ... which Your Hero Joe supports?

Hmmm?

“The NRA got Harry Reid re-elected.”

They have been supporting him for years. He has already made some veiled comments about gun control.

I quit the NRA when I learned they gave money to Dems.

When push comes to shove, the same Dems who happily took their money will throw the NRA down the stairs—Guaranteed.

Joe is no hero of mine and I never heard of him till you brought him up.

But I digress, why don't you answer my questions rather than divert the conversation?

ya know, I’m not even gonna talk to you about the US Senate which should be firmly under Republican control (with or without Joe Manchin) right now. We work with the clay we have, not the clay we want.
