If you thought the Newtown, Connecticut shooting was one place where a refuge from racial politics could be found, you were deeply mistaken. At least one commentator on MSNBC is determined to bring the subject up.
In a conversation on MSNBC’s Up With Chris Hayes, Salon columnist David Sirota argued that the discussion surrounding the shooting in Newtown has been spared a larger degree of ugliness by the fact that the shooter in this case – Adam Lanza – was a white man. However, Sirota did not see this as a positive. Rather, he saw it as evidence that America is willing to leap to the easy out of racial profiling for every crime except for school shootings. Why? Because school shootings, according to Sirota, are perpetrated by white people.
To that end, Sirota made the following comment while responding to the idea that the mentally ill might be followed and surveyed by the government with the same zeal as the terrorist watch list.
“The issue with it will be, politically, I think; the profile is white men. That’s a profile that’s not, essentially, in America allowed to be profiled. That’s the one profile in America that’s not allowed to be profiled.”

I believe it was an Asian that shot up Virginia Tech, fwiw....and blacks don’t usually do this sort of thing because they ‘d rather not be one against many, they rather be in a group against one person....odds more in their favor....
we could also profile most people that stop pyschos with guns as white males too.
quite a narrow, narrow niche area. they don’t bat an eye at all the murders committed repeatedly by blacks with guns.
The “white” mass shooters of late have not be identified as Christians. If they were, rest assured, it would have been broadcast far and wide. They seem to share liberal/anarchist leanings. Perhaps only liberals should be banned from possessing firearms.
We can start profiling on these twits......

FU MSNBC. How do we know he didn’t see the movie promo picture of Jamie Fox with a rifle saying how cool it would be to shoot white people? Seriously, there should be a major effort to boycott NBC and it’s affiliates and sponsors. It’s been said before but we really should shut down this media outlet. They are destructive.
Chicago has nothing to do with this story. Chicago has shootings but not mass shootings at one time. This person is talking about the wacky white guy or kid who goes in and shoots 20 children and 6 adults......28 people at VA Tech. And so many other situations. Blacks normally shoot each other over drugs in their own cities. This is highly different.
Richard Jewell, the hero of the Atlanta Olympics bombing, had his life ruined because he “fit the profile.”
Oh yes....a low security guard to a multi-millionaire. Such a shame. Big whoop. He was asked some questions for a couple hours.....you can’t be that liberal.
Ok, fair enough. So does this also mean we can profile blacks for violent flash mob action? Moslems as terrorists? Mexicans who speak no english as likely illegals? Chubby northern guys as potential union thugs?

Okay, that’s fair enough. As long as we can profile Salon columnists named David Sirota who appear on MSLSD as complete morons and have them immediately confined to mental institutions, he has a deal.
Oh, and while we’re at it, can we profile all blacks as members of rioting mobs, all Hispanics as members of drug gangs, all Muslims as terrorists, all Italians as members of the mob, and anyone who rides a two-wheeled vehicle with an engine as a “violent biker”...?
