According to a criminal complaint, a woman stole an ambulance that was on a call in the 4000 Block of MacCorkle Avenue in Charleston, W.Va on Dec 13.
According EMS personnel who were responding to a call, Elizabeth Ann Lacy, 47, approached them and asked for a ride home. The EMS told her that they were on a call and couldn't take her home.
The paramedics then entered the home of the patient and began treatment.
According to witnesses, after the EMS's entered the home Lacy entered the ambulance and drove off with the emergency lights still on.

memo to EMS employees...remove keys from ignition while ambulance is parked...
EMTs suffered a major lapse in judgment. The local gentry will usually swarm an open and unattended ambulance, and will empty it of all “pharmaceuticals” and accessories in minutes.
It is a sad day in America when EMS workers would have to do that.
I understand why they would leave them in. It is an emergency and the last thing they need to do is loose the keys.
I hope this woman is punished harshly to discourage others but I doubt it. She could have killed someone not just the person who need to go to the hospital.
Um, they still ended up “losing” the keys...
Tell people that silly religious superstitions like "Thou shalt not kill" and "Thou shalt not steal" are no longer operative, and see where it gets you.
Well with Izlam trying to take over it will be
Thou shall not steal or we cut off your hands
and
Thou shall not kill unless it is the infidel.
