Absolutely beautifully wonderfully heart warming - but how did that teensie weensie little kitty end up inside the statue? (I hate to think someone put it there.)

In my experience, kittens get in to anywhere that they can, and some places that they can’t.

That kitten was so young, I don’t know if he could have gotten inside that statue by himself. Maybe mom left him in there and couldn’t figure out how to get him back out.

Cats can teleport (or they sure seem to be able to, anyway.)

Oh well, main thing is, it’s safe now. Wonder where its mother and brother and sisters are. I’m a worry-wart.

Good question. I’m leaning towards the teleport theory.

We came to that conclusion some years ago after having a kitty escape from a closed carrier...and we found it still closed.

We had a kitten that somehow got inside the furnace. Fortunately it was summer and the pilot light was not on. They had to take part of the furnace apart in order to rescue her. Never could figure out how she managed to get inside. My mother was not happy and as I remember we didn’t have any more kittens after that.

I had a kitten vanish from a closed kitchen. I eventually found him napping in the sleeve of my jacket...after opening every cabinet and moving the fridge.

They’re still there.

That was my first thought too. Didn’t really happen. Media set it up so they could get a feel good story out there to distract from the destruction being wrought on our country. People, don’t let them manipulate you.

You got that right. Miss Hissy Slashy teleports all the time. She will be sitting at my feet, and I’ll walk into another room, and there she is, lying down and acting as if she had just awakened as I walked in.
She’s eerie, but she likes a tummy rub as much as normal cats do.
Thanks for the heartwarming ping, SA&.

What a great Thanksgiving story! The best ones involve kittens!
I had not one, but two kittehs crawl inside my head and heart.
That happened to me, too......That's how I came to have five of the little critters. That last two to arrive are a brother/sister act. They are now almost 6 months old and wrecking havoc in my house. I can tell they are sharpening their claws in anticipation of my Christmas decorations!
.....but I love 'em!

Yesterday, a woman down the street called me about a 5 week old kitten crying outside her door...all gray just like this one. She wanted me to come and take it. I said I am full ( I am) and can't take anymore right now, but if she could just tame it for a month, and i'll take it to get adopted. She said, 'well, she said she can't tame it because she is having company come over the Holiday. 'So, she called Animal care and control. They came to take it. She wrote me saying that it was purring and playing with her for awhile before they came. I had told her that if she gave it to them, that they would just put it down and they confirmed it to her when she asked. I did not think she would go through with it. She did. She writes me today saying she is sick to her stomach over her decision and can't get it out of her mind.
Good.

For the first time in my owned-by-cats life I had the chance to actually choose one. Drove two hours to look at a Siamese litter of six. Wanted a chcolate point and there were two.
As I was attempting to pull one out of the cage, it pulled back and another kitten tried to leap into my arms. Tried to pull the other chocolate point out and the same kitten crawled over it and into my hands. A crowd had gathered at the cat show as this little seal point insisted on being mine.
So, in my forever being chosen by stray cats coming out of the woods, it was finally and permanently established that cats do indeed choose you!

Perhaps Data’s cat beamed him there by accident? It’s a lovely story anyway.
I seem to recall the Lincoln White House actually did have a kitten or two.

(I hope I am doing this to the correct person).
I had a gray kitty. She was wonderful and was my best friend until her death. I miss her greatly. I now have a tan tabby, I just went to the shelter and this one chose me. I was leaning towards getting a black or a white one before I went in. It was the tan tabby that came up to me and wouldn’t let go of me. She was considered un-adoptable and was due to be euthanized later that week (she had been at the shelter for two years, her time was up).
I’ve always had girls, (well, they started out life as girls), but I have been around boys that were just darling. I think the personality depends on the cat, not so much about the sex, especially once you spay/neuter them.
I hope you find the kitty you are meant to have, and it gives you love and purrs and happiness in return.
