Almost four years ago Rush had chest pains during a vacation in Hawaii. He received the best possible care, and all turned out well. He revealed that he does not have health insurance and pays out of pocket, negotiating the best rate. Will Rush take this opportunity to be the civil rights leader of the 21st century and engage in civil disobedience? Will he tell Pharaoh Obama to let his people go!
IBTZ
I don’t think you understand how Obamacare works. You aren’t going to go to jail if you don’t pay for insurance. You do have to pay a fine, but for someone like Rush, it’s pocket change. I don’t know what you want him to do? set himself on fire as a political statement like a Buddhist monk?
Interesting question. Will he refuse to pay the penalty ascribed by the mandate? And do it as a firewall for all the rest of us. How can they go after us if they don’t go after him?
As far as I understand, and like Ms. Pelosi, I have not “read the bill,”
if you don’t buy insurance, you pay a fine?
I will NEVER pay the fine.
He will probably just pay the non-compliance penalty...oh, I mean the thing Roberts called a legitimate tax.
Most people will continue to receive employer provided insurance.
Uh, no, they won’t. And that’s off the subject of what Rush will do anyway.
Mr. Limbaugh makes North of $300 million dollars a year. Why in the wide, wide world of sports would he buy medical insurance? He could start a small hospital with the change on his bedroom dresser...
Rush still has to explain why he was arrested on his way into the Dominican Republic with illegal Viagra.
That was definitely paid for out-of-pocket.
He might refuse to pay the mandate penalty on the basis of a religious/philosophical exemption (as allowed for Amish, Islam) and litigate the case in the courts. This would inspire others to do the same as well as clogging up the court system.
He does not have to light himself on fire, and I am not a troll for making this suggestion.
The insurance for the wealthy is so good that they have to pay a tax on it.
I understand a few states have already passed laws that prohibit the scumbag feds from requiring that state’s citizens to buy health insurance. Maybe Rush could set up shop in one of those states.
LOL, I won't either. I don't have any money to pay a fine. I don't have any money to pay for health insurance. And I don't have any money to pay for health care out of my own pocket. I'm not in a good place, am I? But if I get seriously ill--and that's always a possibility with me--they could attach my house, which is all I have left. Maybe they could put a lien on my dog. ;-)
With the fraud, graft, corruption in this administration causing the downfall of this great country, and you’re worried about an age-old story about Rush Limbaugh?
No freakin’ wonder we lost the election...
Not likely.
The adulation of that reprobate embarasses us all.
Not all of us craves external validation.
/look it up
Even I won’t buy it. I’ll get the coverage I need and if that ain’t good enough take ot outta one of my checks...
Yes, you pay a fine...err...tax for not having health insurance.
