If push comes to shove, will Rush, other wealthy conservative, buy Obama approved health insurance?

Like many businesses that are well financed, he is self-insured. This means he contracts a Fidelity or some other benefits management outfit/insurer to maintain a website mailing and payments system to his employees (and maybe to him but prob. not). The “paid” medical premiums are paid by the employer, really out of the finance dept accounts for the employee’s pay, and another portion paid by the employer as a declared “benefit” is tax deductible to the employer. Only recently have self employed individuals been allowed to deduct and only to a limitation set by Congress, and employers get the better deduction.

The healthcare company provides the “insurance” plan for the employee and manages the expense for the self-insured person/company. Retirees have to pay monthly premium— usually directly to the former employer.

Don’t know why this silly vanity— this is how it is done. What IS being done all over is restructuring to minimize exposure to obamacouldn’tcare mandates/fines, up to and including re-incorporating elsewhere to avoid the “exchanges”. This is all a nightmare of completely unneeded bull and expense. And physicians are going to quit, and we will only have Dr. Bombay and pals from Nigeria.

So just to follow this thread logic, do you think that Obama-care will directly change anything (significantly) about Rush's self insurance? Or is it for those whose employers cant afford self insurance?

I know personally it wont hurt Rush as he can always afford the best, unless there is a Obama-care tax that applies to him for his income.

“You WILL pay the fine because they will simply liquidate and seize what you have.”

If they were to strip me of all my possessions it wouldn’t even come up to a year’s worth of payments.

You are aware that Rush could quit today, and bank it for life? He does what he does because he likes what he does and deep down he is his father’s son, and loves this country. This is NOT about Rush. This is about our country being systematically destroyed, institution by institution, and one can see this every where one turns.

Obamawontcare is affecting EVERY business NOW, self insured or otherwise, and every small business including the S corporations and family corporations. The mandate was/is the central issue, coupled with IRS enforcement as a threat— to dig down into our very personal lives and our private information— to persist to the point of removing our right of self defence. In order to stay in business it is causing layoffs, reorgs and additional costs that are destroying this country so that the great unwashed who will sit on their ass and collect checks and food stamps will have “healthcare”. Our rollover RINOs say it is the “law of the land”— they need to be made to break the moving parts that lets it continue and we as citizens should disobey.

Obamawontcare was pushed by large multinational megacorps (especially those in pharma in order to place themselves as govt supplier of choice) to cost shift their deductible “benefits” off onto the so called “taxpayer”. Just like the coal owners many years ago were only too happy for a special system of healthcare payments just for miners-— which the owners wouldn’t have to pay for other than in their “taxes” which they could avoid. This is just like Teddy K creating HMOs, holding them harmless through ERISA against malpractice suits, and then.. having created the nightmare to set up “free” govt. care you then support an abject socialist to put in english style govt. system. Even the trial lawyers in the dem party know this is a nightmare. But as Rush pointed out— you can’t beat Santa Claus, even if all you get from him is cheap toys from China.

Every freethinking individual in this country who isn’t a freaking drone or cypher, ought to think about civil disobedience- stop thinking about stuffing their own pie holes or the kardashian television world of morons- do not report to the IRS your status, for starters. Think of it as speeding on a federal highway. Shut this down- we do not consent.
Deo Vindice.

If you want to get a general point across about the dire situation that is ‘not about Rush’ then don't put this Rush hero-worship dribble in it. YOU chose to start out your comment with this.

Even if Rush is not in it for the money, which I am highly skeptical of that claim, he is still in it for the hero worship he gets by many in his audience.

The fact that he can be wrong so aften yet so many still take his word as fact must be very addicting to him. Its like the European who got stranded on a Island with natives who thought he was God. Its got to be addictive.

If Rush was so great then Obama would be packing his stuff because that is clearly what Rush told his audience would happen.

The way that bill is setup there is little risk in doing that, perhaps losing a tax refund but that is it. So that is not a problem for what you suggest.

I assume you are not suggesting actually dropping health insurance to do this, just dont report it. In the case of employer based insurance the employer might be the one reporting this, with our W2s. That would make sense anyway.

So your idea would not be effective and would only involve a small % of Americans who are not on medicare and dont have employer insurance.

Or does the employee file this with electronic tax return?

Drivel about dribble from you, you have too much time on your hands. We’re done here. Can’t have a dialogue with a monologist without any semblance of a “logic thread” save a single minded agenda whine. Give me a break. Can’t get through your self indulgent “i’m always right” mindset, or fixation on a single media entertainer/commentator, so be it.

You understand this affects every one of us, right now?- wasn’t making a “general” point- we are losing our country and our companies. Romney wasn’t going to help it, just postpone it. Spelled it out for you in cogent business/political terms which a conservative of median intellect could understand. Maybe not through the whine.

Glad you let everyone here further flagellating themselves know that you “personally know” that it won’t hurt Rush— very impressive and smugly meaningless. Somewhere in Palm Beach a barkeep is waiting for that story, as agent for William Morris Agency. The View awaits.

No whine before its time— and mine is up. Ad Lucem. buh bye.

RE :”We’re done here.”

Separate response that is ‘not about Rush’ was already posted at : #106

If every answer/idea you give me HAS to include unrelated Rush worship stuff then that is best.

What kind of small picture, bureaucratic left brained type B smarm are you?

He's the kind that bitches about everything all the time, and then does nothing, one of the worst examples of a self professed conservative ever.

Pure (in his own mind).

Stupid.

Inconceivably whiny.

He was never arrested for bringing in illegal Viagra, that’s simply a lie, a manufactured story of the left.

I actually heard one of his shows years back and he said he pays cash for all his medical stuff.

And he just restated that fact on today's program.......

And what if the feds go after the doctors that treat those paying cash?

They will and that's pretty simple really. They will be required to ask for either your employer's insurance plan issued card or your govt. issued insurance card. And unlke pre-Obamacare, they will now not only have the right to deny you services but legally obligated to do so if you do not have the "cards"........
